I had an interesting thought about Derlord and The King In Yellow. Yesterday after watching the video and discussing it among friends, I mentioned how I'm not too much a fan of The King I'm Yellow being interactable and conversing with DerLord cause it took away what I believed was the horror in eldritch horror. It felt too human and understandable when they talked.
But today, after thinking it a while, I had an interesting realisation. The King In Yellow never really talked to Avery. Only DerLord, which, if you really think about it, makes a lot of sense because only DerLord has the ability and knowledge to comprehend the King In Yellow. He could make sense of the king in yellow and because he's human, his mind probably tried to make him understand in a very human way hence the normal conversations with The King In Yellow
Ofc there's also the fact that the King In Yellow doesn't interact with Avery because of the whole pure of mind vessel thing
But it did kept the eldritch horror and incomprehensible element of the King In Yellow underneath a few layers which was. Really really neat of a detail the more I think about it.
