dercy hours so im expanding on their dynamic in MIWM (monsters in wryn mayer, the keyframes x monsterhearts AU) They try to get rid of Percy's (litteral in his head) demon. It's to little success however. So their current bet is looking for another oni to make a contract with... Hopefully a more benevolent being. Deja doesn't like playing with the odds of finding another one, but it's better than the alternative. They say whatever heeds your call has to find your voice familiar. And Percy's a little different from first spring. They work together to gather as much info they can on anything supernatural in a journal series. The entire group of misfits end in there too, to Jamie's dismay. Reynah has a hand on those too, especially after an incident earlier this year involving PJE. She says it's her job as part of the elected body. It's also how Deja's been sent to keeping an eye on them. It certainly helps that Jamie knew MC and Cameron and that the group organically glued itself together.

But im really curious about other people's thoughts because im writing something right now, this is a Dercy related ask hehe What do you think Deja and Percy saw in each other that, you know, made them click? or the moment that made them think "oh, I just want to spend more time with this person"?

I think neither of them really realized when it first clicked. There was this natural connection between that simply made them spend more time alone, let it be because there was a Co-Op they wanted to try together or help for their math classes they just... naturally ended up being attracted to each other.

To me the first to realize would be Percy, but he would probably try to ignore it since he's not over his last break up and knows that Deja deserves someone with their shit together. He's a lot more distracted as he realizes more and more how much he likes Deja's company and it does come off as him avoiding her because he swears if he just distant himself everything will go back to normal and he won't have to change the status quo of their friend group.

I think Deja might realize it way later and by that point the lines between friendship and romance have already been blurred. She's very much confused about it because it's...well...Percy of all people. I don't think she'd understand what she sees in him at first, especially if MC was bothered by his flirting when they first met but she can't help but be pulled by him and wanting to be around him.

A very cute scenario would be when they're both studying for math and their usual banter starts happening, they play around a little bit and go back to their studies and Deja just... realizes she's been starring at Percy a lot and she's taken in his entire profile and how serious he looks in that moment and why does she like it? Why does she like staring at him so much? Slight panic might settle in but she'd keep her cool and if Percy notices that something is off and asks, she just lies saying that is nothing while her mind still tries to figure out why him of all people?

Basically, I see their contention to be something purely coincidental, they simply found each other and found that the other's company to be enjoyable.
