I feel like the writers need to get on the same page about J’s personality, cause like is he a whiny, hormonal, teenager who’s in over his head and too busy thinking with his dick or a calculating, manipulative, big boss who’s ready to wear the sunglasses?
J Cody is maybe (definitely) a little (a lot) vindictive.
It’s kind of a well-kept secret.
He’s gets to play the sweet, boyish, charming nice guy with the hard past (but his circumstances aren’t his fault, right?) that you take home to meet your parents like that stray dog you really wanna keep.
He hides it well; all that anger and frustration he feels towards Smurf and his uncles, towards his mother too for not actually being a mother, and just the entire fucking world.
But all that time hiding it means that when you hit a sore sport, there’s no holding him back.
Like J has enough self-restraint to keep a smile on his face while in his head he’s considering the best way to murder you and where to hide your body.
He was always dangerous - but before Smurf took him in he was mostly just relying on his intelligence, his words, maybe his fists here and there.
But from the moment Craig put that gun in his hand, J became a different kind of dangerous.
And he loves how powerful he feels with the weight of that gun in his hand; it’s addictive.
So it didn’t really bother him to kill Mia, especially since she deserved it.
She checked all those boxes, hit all those sore spots - trashed his place, taunted his uncles, embarrassed him, fucking killed Baz (he wasn’t exactly father of the year, but he didn’t deserve that) - and she knew what she was doing. So she had it coming.
And now Pete knows what he’s capable of. And before, that would have been inconvenient.
But now that Smurf is gone, the Cody’s are gonna have a fight on their hands, and there’s no point in hiding anymore.
