Spending 4-5 days in Kota Kindabalu is just a good amount of time to explore the town and the island. Keeping things simple -- Top to bottom, Left to Right: Day 1 - (1) Zip-line (”Flying Fox”), snorkel and island hop on Mamutik & Manukan islands (several others in close vicinity). Day 2 - (2) Desa Dairy Farm at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu (hailed as the New Zealand of Sabah).  (3) Half a day in Mount Kinabalu foothills, do a hiking trail through the woods. Day 3 - (4) River tour to scout for monkeys and witness the majesty when stars and fireflies light up the sky. (5) Sunsets on the beach (any beach) are just awe-inspiring. (6) Welcome Seafood Restaurant so tasty and so good -- be sure to order the Bihoon noodles. Several locations around town. (really, I could’ve eaten here every day)  Day 4 - (7) Go on a cultural tour at the Mari Mari Cultural Village. (8) Enjoy lunch on a “hill” at Rumah Kasih Sayang, boasting an incredible view of the entire city and coast.
