An Important Announcement
Hey, followers. The author of Descentale here. I have good news, and I have bad news.
The bad news is, I might be discontinuing the fanfic version of Descentale indefinitely.
The good news is...
I’m making Descentale into a comic instead!
I’ve already finished drawing the prologue and am in the process of refining the line art and coloring it. I’ve also drawn a few pages of Chapter One. Below is an unfinished page, as a preview just for you:
While I admit that I am not the best artist in the world, I feel that the story would be best told in a visual format instead of a written one, as part of the reason I’ve been delaying the fanfic is because I have little faith in my writing ability. I don’t feel it’s up to snuff.
Seeing how I’m a more visual person anyway, this new direction for Descentale may be for the best. All pages will be posted to my deviantART account, melissaduck, before I post them here.
In other news, I tried to make a RP/ask blog for the original characters made for Descentale, but I consider it a colossal failure as (A) I have no patience to maintain it on a regular basis, and (B) I have a HUGE problem with communicating with fellow RP’ers. I did, however, post character profiles on that blog, so I will be reblogging them here for your perusal. Consider it a gift to keep you all busy while I work.
I know some of you must be disappointed in the fanfic being unfinished and stuck at Chapter Two, and now I have to start all over again in comic format. I’m terribly sorry, and I wish I knew how to make it up to you all. But I just can’t stand my writing style at all. I can tell a story just fine, but I am so bad with words that I’m better off using a visual format.
I will make an honest effort in making the Descentale comic the absolute best it can be. That I can promise you. I don’t know how long it will take to finish the comic, nor do I know how many pages I can put out in a certain period of time. But I will finish the story. I have had way too many projects fail on me due to my lack of motivation, and I can’t let this happen again.
I hope you can all forgive me for my faults, and I also hope you are just as excited as I am for this new direction I’m taking.
- Sincerely, melissaduck (The Author)
