Exploring T-Shirts, Patterns, Images, and Effects

I am fascinated by Google's color palette and the evolving design trends in the industry.

The fact that Google uses red, blue, green, and yellow as its colours, but still I find the combination quite amazing.

Google has been a company in my memory that sparked discussions about cultural practices in common conversations.

But creativity and culture at Google have been inclusive enough and that is what makes it relevant.

Inspired by this, I tried making designs by imagining what the people working at Google India would be wearing on special days at the office.

I made three types of designs for this matter:

I experimented with different 2D geometric shapes and made a symmetric composition using Google's colour scheme to design graphics for the t-shirt.

Next, I used the composition as a frame and incorporated images representing India to create a culturally rooted design.

In the third design, I used a Photoshop action that offers a pen sketch effect to the designs to make a visually appealing option for one of the t-shirts.

I have made this post as a part of my personal practice and portfolio.

dusty... dusty can you explain your callum design im looking at your latest art and im very curious

YES, OH MY GOD, I'VE BEEN WAITIN FOR SOMEONE TO ASK ME THIS!!! I WIN!

OKAYOKAY SO teehee a ramble about my Callum design under the cut so that way it doesn't take up a buncha space!

ALRIGHTY PUTTIN THE DUSTY YAPS TAG TO GOOD USE!!!!

So, I'll start with his outfit since it's the simplest thing about my version of her design.

>>: So, I wanted to keep the usual purple suit and star spangled tie, but I felt like it just needed a little more to it's design. I decided to give him a blue-ish suit vest to kinda add more blue to his design since I felt like the blue of their tie stood out a lil too much on its own. Originally, I was gonna keep his suit coat buttoned, but then you wouldn't be able to see the vest. So I keep it unbuttoned when I'm drawin her.

Next, I know that in canon depictions of her, he keeps his sleeves and pantlegs down over its arms and legs. But due to how I draw his prosthetics, I felt like they're too big and bulky to fit. So I took a note from current day Callum and had her roll up the pantlegs and sleeves. But aside from that, that's pretty much all I changed about their outfit.

>>: But speakin of her prosthetics, I understand the way I designed them is way different from his canon design. But that's for a reason. This shits got LORE. So, with it's prosthetic arm, I've kinda changed it up a bit over the many times I've drawn him. I'm still tryna figure out a good, fittin look for it. Cuz I really love the whole armor based arm, but I wanna make it look like a mix of how it's depicted in Callum's tale and his character sprites. So far, I think I'll stick with how I depicted it in my most recent art, but lemme describe some lil things I changed from canon.

First of all, I gave him claws. As shown in the art that's my pfp, you can see a little screw in the nail bed. That's because he can take them off. They're held on by screws. It's just for times when she needs to be careful with his hands, like if it's messin with wires n stuff, they wouldn't wanna risk cuttin them with his claws. But it keeps them on for self-defense reasons most of the time in case he just so happens to find herself in hand to hand combat.

I added those lil circle things on their wrist as they help him move it around. There's a buncha lil mechanisms in it's hand, and there's this pully system that connects to the inside of the wrist. When he moves said wrist, those circle joints spin as the gears inside move. Allowin the same wrist mobility that his organic wrist does. Everythin else on the outside of her prosthetic arm is just metal plates to keep everythin inside protected. Aside from the mobility in their wrist and hand, the rest of his arm is kinda stiff due to how thick the metal is. But hey, safety is important.

>>: Now, the tail. I consider the tail to be a prosthetic, too, just like all the other metal pieces she has attached to her body. Except it kinda goes right into their spine, usin his tailbone as a base it's attached on. The cord itself is a flat-ish, thick rubber case over wires that connect to the plug. The rubber allows for better tail mobility so he can express himself better. Not only that, but because it's flat-ish instead of round, it allows him to actually hold and grip things with it securely. And the plug is just for connectin. It's a landline type plug like most rotary phones have. Usually, I actually forget to draw the prongs on it, or every so often, I choose not to draw them for simplicity sake.

>>: Onto the prosthetic legs. I'd say they're the most obvious thing I changed about it. But it's also for a reason, as most of my design changes hold reason. It's for practicality. For my version, I headcannon that she kept her old prosthetics for a long time after he made them, but after a while, once they got successful, he had access to better supplies and decided to remake them. The old ones were stiff and lacked the mobility it desired. So in remakin them, he added more joints to get around easier.

Startin with the knee, it's a ball joint, like a doll. The metal bit above the knee itself is what connects the knee to the thigh. It's also what allows the knee to move as the joint is directly connected to it. In my newest art of him, you can actually see the ball joint as most of the time when he's standin, it's hidden by the connector I just explained.

Then, for the calf, I decided to keep the metal bars, but I decided to make a bend in the middle to replicate animal legs. It's for better balance and mobility as the knee is level with the foot, and if the rest of the calf was level, the metal bars bein straight would just make her leg stiff like the old ones. So it has a bend in there. And don't worry, it's supported on the inside of the leg, so there's no worry of it snappin.

For the ankles and feet, it has the same mechanism as his wrist and hand does. But I decided to add a dewclaw for more balance. I feel like it's all a lot more practical than their canon prosthetics. Better mobility and balance is key.

>>: And for their head, I barely changed anythin aside from givin him a cord to connect her transmitter to it's head like most phones have. It just makes sense.

I'm also so glad that I've been asked to explain his design cuz I've put a lotta thought into it and it makes me super happy that at least someone cares enough to ask =3

i really liked my drawing of lexi as a dunmeshi gnome i did 2 weeks ago so i drew a few doodles of him with droopy eyes. i have too many characters with angled eyes anyway. plus it fits better with his more unbothered, "it is what it is" demeanor.

though he can still look stern when, let's say, some rookie merchant or wannabe mage thinks they can pull a fast one on their (suspiciously feylike) artifact supplier.
