Robot Workstation: John
John has a pretty meticulous workstation... he goes a little crazy if anything is out of place. Front and center is his MacBook Pro (Team Mac!) with about 9,000 tabs open on three different web browsers.
To left of his computer you can find an iPad mini (used for SwagRobot social media), a pack of Emoji Pins, and the latest issue of The Amazing Spider-Man. If you haven't been reading Spider-Man, do yourself a favor and get on board.
On the right is a Quirky Nimbus for tracking social media interaction, a copy of Delivering Happiness, and a keychain and ornament from our newest Artist Collection from Elk & Quill. Also, this Bandai Tamashii Super Mario always steals the scene.
(Not pictured, the largest cup of coffee ever to exist.)
Comment below and let us know what must-haves you keep on your desk!
Robot Workstation: Beth
Beth’s workstation is organized, clean, and matches her personality perfectly. It’s a mixture between smell good and getting stuff done! She’s not only got her laptop (Team PC), her Deadpool comic (Team Marvel), but she’s always got a weight, and a candle nearby. “If I get annoyed, or if I feel I’ve been sedentary for too long, I’ll get up, walk around, and lift my weights. Sometimes I just need to lift something.”
As we all strive to find that perfect working environment, Beth is well on her way to getting there. “I love my almond candle, oh, and purple acai tea, in the My Little Pony Mug. I’ve gotta have it.”
Beth wants me to make sure that I mention that she’s on Team PC, but she’s got a much better reason to be. “Once I left my computer on the desk at Starbucks, and it was still there when I came back. No one will ever steal a Dell.”
Robot Workstation: Chris
Chris’ workstation is a mixture of chaos, fun, distractions and work essentials. Unlike myself, Chris has these items placed on or around his desk. They might be securely tucked away in a drawer, but these are the necessities to what makes Chris… Chris.
Let’s jump right in to the work related items. As we’ve tried to make this very clear, the SwagRobot offices are big on precise, awesome design. With that comes a special love for color. See those beautiful Pantone swatches? It’s a staple, for Christopher especially. Did you also notice what was tucked behind his swatches and his iPhone 6+ (yes, we’ll get back to the phone in a bit!)? It’s a DELL, he’s obviously on Team PC.
So you saw the 6+, right? Well, that’s Farmville, Chris’ weakness (and biggest distraction). Whenever we’re taking an office break, you can find Chris attached to his phone, spurting out (what seems as) random food questions and concerns.
Chris: Do you know of a good recipe site?
Jen: Oh yeah, Food52.com.
Chris: **awkward pause** This is a food recipe site, this isn’t for Farmville.
Jen: **Look of Farmville pain**
Beyond his Farmville obsession, we’re a big comic book office. Sometimes on Wednesdays we will have an after hours comic book field trip. Chris heads up the visits, and has his some super strong love on Batman, and DC Comics.
Other things on his desk are his ADD medication, and his cup of coffee in the top right corner of the image. A perfect match made in caffeinated heaven, right?
We love sharing some of these moments with you. Do you have 5 essentials that you can’t live without? Also, let us know if you’re on our unofficial Swag’s DC Comics Team or the Marvel Comics Team… inquiring minds want to know. :)
Robot Workstation: Jen
This snapshot is a pretty great example of my mobile workstation... life. I carry around all of these items with me on a daily basis. Yes, my bag weighs a ton. No, this isn’t everything.
However, I have a wide variety of highlighters, sharpies, pens that are with me on a daily basis. I have a paper calendar (the polka dotted book on the left) that gets color coded based on which event I’m writing about. Also an external hard drive that attempts to help me to keep my life organized. I have some SwagRobot iPhone cases that I freely give out to any people that look like they might drop their phone a lot, and of course my go-to comic books for a little bit of light reading!
What’s missing? The mess of receipts that I didn’t feel like sharing with the internet, as well as my Kindle Paperwhite, my iPad Mini, earbuds, and a few charging cables. Oh, I also forgot to show you my monstrous Marc by Marc Jacobs tote that I wouldn’t be able to survive without.
My life is a constant adventure, I’m telling you.
What essentials can you not live without? Whether in your personal life, or your professional life?
