Menu Monday: In 1985, like many Americans, Princetonians were introduced to frozen yogurt through "The Country's Best Yogurt," TCBY. Frozen yogurt was popular in the 1980s and 1990s, an era when low fat diets were heavily promoted as optimal for health. Yogurt was seen as a lower fat alternative to ice cream. This was the delivery menu advertised in the Daily Princetonian's November 8, 1985 issue.

I’d happened to have Applebee’s dessert menu from last month; giving from my sister last night while I’m staying in my room.
Though had to put in the freezer before that due to the vanilla ice cream is melted. Nevertheless, it tastes not bad as I put the chocolate meltdown and ice cream together.
This is the first time I ever had one before, but here we are. 😋

The Goody Shoppe will be holding a booth outside the Golden Sun Tavern with baked goods inspired by Elonan culture!
Baklava A rich, sweet dessert pastry made of layers of filo filled with chopped nuts and sweetened and held together with syrup or honey
Koeksister A traditional confectionery made of fried dough infused in syrup or honey.
Lokum Confections based on a gel of starch and sugar, consisting largely of chopped dates, pistachios, and hazelnuts or walnuts bound by the gel; traditional varieties are often flavored with rosewater, mastic, Bergamot orange, or lemon.
Malva Pudding A sweet pudding that contains apricot jam and has a spongy caramelized texture. A cream sauce is often poured over it while it is hot, and it is usually served hot with custard and/or ice-cream.
