“Why are you staring at me like that?”
Send me a sentence for my muse’s reaction
Kyungsoo didn’t mean to barge in like that without calling out or knocking on the door. It seemed like there wasn’t anyone home then, so it seemed like a good idea to just open the door and look inside. The neighborhood was awfully quiet, like those ideal Apgujeong districts that catered only to the upper crust, yet was available to the middle class, boasting off its affordable cost of living. During one of the weekly afternoon strolls with his dogs (which only liked to stick their heads out from the vehicle’s window and not actually walk in that sense), he happened to find a small duplex that offered a rental.
Sehun, an old-time pal, pops in his mind because of it, thinking he’d take the offer and sell it to his friend for his personal convenience near the universities. His real purpose, however, was to advise his friend in taking a place that would be safer, considering the string of robberies. Just a few days ago, he learnt of the news and witnessed one himself as he went out of the supermarket near Sehun’s university to buy a carton of milk. Thankfully, he was unharmed, but his carton suffered a brutal stepping near the cap, having encountered one of the robbers himself as Kyungsoo threatened to pull him by the collar. From then on, he made up his mind and tried to figure out a way to lure his friend out of the shack he rents out. But of course, it required a long time of contemplation before he even decided to pay the place a visit. Out of all the days he passed by, this Thursday was unlucky. All the lights that he’d seldom see from inside were switched off, window shades down, and the street deserted.
“OPEN HOUSE” signages were, as he expected, not meant literally. Yet there he was, opening the door like a sinister criminal with his ear cautiously pressed against the door to check for any signs of life from the other side. Little did he know of the woman staying inside, probably taking a nap, that was disrupted thanks to the creaking of the door. The events happened too fast that he nearly ran away in panic and embarrassment. All he knew was when the door opened, he heard a loud curse from the other side of the room (judging from the echoes it made) and came storming right out. With Kyungsoo stepping in, their collision was unavoidable as they bumped elbows and ended up sitting on the floor.
Bewilderment in his eyes sparked when he saw the woman’s face, somewhat tugging a sense of familiarity the longer he looked. Yes, it was rude to stare– But how couldn’t he, when he could’ve sworn he saw that face earlier this week? Was it from the grocery? Or from the hospital? It’s been a minute and his awkward stance has definitely made things worse for the two strangers to fight against. “Oh- Right, sorry,” he uttered as response while crouching down, hands gathering the keys scattered on the floor like a 1000-piece puzzle. “I thought no one was home. Is this place still up for grabs?”
