46 and 47 for Rosslyn, 8 and 16 for Maighread :)
Thank you for asking - these were fun to answer!
46. Do they make a good first impression? Does their first impression reflect them accurately? How do they introduce themselves? As a teyrn’s daughter, Rosslyn has been taught from a young age how to make a good first impression, and when it’s important, she just about manages to do so. She can be charming, and demure, and can hide her true emotions well, but since she’d much rather be running around the tilt yard or hanging out in the stables it’s only for really important state occasions that she’ll present herself fully as a noblewoman. When she introduces herself, she’ll either throw out the full weight of her titles (when she’s trying to impress or intimidate) or be more laid back (if she’s trying to be genuinely friendly) but she’s never had a knack for just striking up conversations with people, so she can seem rather stilted. 47. How do they act in a formal occasion? What do they think of black tie wear? Do they enjoy fancy parties and love to chit chat or loathe the whole event? Honestly, it depends. There are aspects of formal parties that she likes, since court occasions are one of the few times all the people she likes are gathered together in the same room, and she takes a certain amount of pride in being one of the focal points of the room (especially when her outfit means Alistair can’t take his eyes off her), but she gets so bored with all the hours it takes to get ready, and while fancy parties have all the people she likes, they also have all the people she hates but has to talk to anyway. Having to be polite to them for hours on end generally means she’ll have to hit a lot of training dummies later.
8. Did they have pets as a child? Do they have pets as an adult? Do they like animals? When Maighread was very young, there was Rufus, the family hound, who had a big ruff of fur and used to sleep in her father’s study whenever he couldn’t sneak into the nursery, but when she was taken to the Circle she had to leave him behind. While she was in the Circle she never had pets as such, but she would feed the birds scraps from her own dinner, and over time the tower’s crows especially became fond of her. She’s always found it easier to get on with animals than with people, though it’s not until she joins the Inquisition that she gets a chance to have her own pets - there’s the horse Master Dennet gives her, the kitten that came in with one of the merchant caravans, and then there’s Cullen’s dog, who she’s very happy to help adopt.
16. Do they collect anything? What do they do with it? Where do they keep it? Private possessions weren’t really a thing in the Circle, and being too secretive about things tends to bring down the attention of templars, but one thing every mage is allowed is a grimoire, and in it, she collected ciphers. She would encode her spells so that nobody else could make use of them, and these his more advanced notes in their depths. When Ostwick rebels she ends up cutting her hair to pass as a boy, but once she joins the Inquisition she starts feeling safe enough to grow it out again. Josie gives her her first hairpin to keep it out of her eyes, and after that, people seem to just keep giving her them as gifts. She keeps them in a box in her room, but she has a few favourites that she often wears out in the field.
