Simi Valley: Narcs Continue to Arrest Drug Dealers: Three More Jailed This Week

Detectives from the Simi Valley Police Department’s Special Operations Unit had a busy week, arresting three suspects in unrelated investigations for felony narcotics and drug violations. Although Prop-47 was passed, reducing personal possession of narcotics and dangerous drugs from a felony to a misdemeanor, possession with the intent to sell or selling these substances remains a felony violation in the State of California. Some of the narcotics and dangerous drugs included in the Prop-47 reduction from felonies to misdemeanor violations are heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
On November 4, 2014, Narcotics Detectives arrested a 36-year-old Topanga resident, Lan Brandt. Brandt was selling MDMA (Ecstasy) to Simi Valley residents and found in possession of over 100 capsules filled with MDMA (Ecstasy) for sale at the time of his arrest. Brandt was booked at the Main Jail in Ventura.
Gary Bond, 37 years old from Simi Valley
On November 4, 2014, Narcotics Detectives arrested Gary Bond, 37 years old from Simi Valley. Bond had been the subject of numerous complaints from neighboring residents regarding drug trafficking at his residence in the 1300 block of Mellow Lane. When detectives served a search warrant served at the residence, Bond was detained while attempting to flee. Bond was then arrested for
-11379.6 HS – Manufacturing or Preparing a Controlled Substance, -11366.5(a) HS – Management of a place used to manufacture a controlled substance,
-11350(a) HS – Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone pills now a misdemeanor under Prop-47),
-11377(a) HS – Possession of methamphetamine (Now a misdemeanor under Prop-47), and
-11357(a) HS – Possession of concentrated cannabis.
Bond is being held at the Ventura County Mail Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Nicole Johnson of Simi Valley
On November 6, SVPD Narcotics Detectives arrested 22-year-old Nicole Johnson of Simi Valley. Johnson was the subject of a month long investigation where she was suspected of selling heroin to Simi Valley residents. Detectives served a search warrant at her residence in the 3200 Block of Amarillo Ave. and Johnson was arrested near Tapo Street & Township Ave for sales of heroin. Johnson was booked at the Main Jail in Ventura for the sales of heroin and a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held at the Todd Road Jail Facility in lieu of $70,000 bail.
The Simi Valley Police Department wants to reassure the community in wake of the passage of Prop-47, that members of the Special Operations Unit will continue to work towards reducing the flow of drugs into the community by pursuing those suspected of selling illegal narcotics and controlled substances in Simi Valley or to Simi Valley residents.
