There waiting was Irene Adler, who had by some miracle managed to not only find her way back into areas for employees only but also managed to ensnare several people into crowding around her and listening to what she had been saying. At the mention of Lestrade they all scattered like startled birds, taking flight to wherever their original destination had been.

    “I do need to talk to you about something important actually. You specifically. As willing as several others may be, given the circumstances you are the only one capable of what I want to discuss.”

Mycroft looked over his file of paperwork that he had to bring home, sighing softly at the dull, boring tones of black and white. But then, the whole world was black and white to him, so why should he care? He had a fitting job for it, at least.

Sticking the file into his briefcase, he stood and slid his coat on before walking out. Just as he was going through the door, someone else seemed to have the same idea and he bumped into them. He was about to tell them off for not paying attention, but something was…different.

"You-your eyes… They're, they're not grey," he managed after a moment of shocked staring.

Really examine why this makes you angry. Anger is energy, find a different outlet for that energy. I encountered very similar situations in high school and I was angry all the time. Looking back I could have done something more productive with it.

It makes me angry because

they're unobservant and don't take in the multitude of clues I give them for getting it right (it's like commenting on someone's long hair, when they're also wearing a really cool suit) which implies they're blanking my hard work

they're insulting me, calling me something I'm not, of course that makes me angry. Anger is a natural reaction to getting insulted, right?

The thing is, expressing anger is a relatively new thing for me. I used to tamp it down, keep it in, and at some point, it would explode, causing a violent and uncontrolled rage. I need to find something between the extremes of swallowing it down and violence. Mental health specialists have told me I need to express my anger at the person causing the anger, but I've yet to find a way to do that effectively.

I’d just politely correct them politely and move on. It’s not worth the energy. If you get abrasive people will get defensive and shut down.

I get that, but it's still hurtful and makes me angry, and what the hell am I supposed to do with that kind of anger???!! It's a really difficult kind of energy to get rid of, especially if people keep going at, what is, in effect, insulting me.
