...I realize (or at least choose to believe) this was probably meant to be read in a joking tone, not a "you claim to be a star wars fan? list five obscure Legends facts to prove it" tone, but what about that post implied I don't have a problem with Devaronian sexual dimorphism fjdkjgs

(Although yeah, actually, I do find "they have alternative hair growth patterns, different coloration, and one sex has horns where the other doesn't" far more realistic than "their hearing organs are built entirely differently which would necessitate functioning in completely different ways," considering the former is something we see in Earth animals... extremely commonly. My problem with Devaronian sexual dimorphism is mostly that on a meta level I'm generally not a fan of sexual dimorphism in fictional species that reinforces Western culture gender roles/expectations (ie the "males are super aggressive but females are docile" thing), not that it's unrealistic.)

Quick question: do you think Zabraks shed their horns like antlers? Or do you think they operate more like the tusks and horns of rhinos and elephants? Have been thinking about cultural headcanons for the species but I don’t really have the energy for Biology Thoughts™️ which i know for a fact is right up your alley. Keep up the good work!

Personally my guess for Zabrak horns is that unlike antlers (which are basically controlled bone cancer, it seems) their Horns are probably some form of bone core covered in a continuously growing keratin sheath that needs to be shaved down every so often!

I like to imagine that among devaronians and zabrak, its common enough to polish, shape, and paint their horns, like we do with finger nails! :)

Do you happen to know if Kardue'sai'Malloc and Vien'sai'Malloc are related? I mean, their names would suggest so, but nothing on their wiki pages say so. Think the name similarities are just coincidence?

Since Devaronian naming conventions do seem to follow that pattern, and since the writers are generally pretty careful to give everyone distinct surnames so they aren’t mixed up, I would guess they are probably related. No way to tell for sure, of course, not that I can find.
