Bringing me to McDonald's was a questionable decision on both Devi and Edgar's parts.
Happy mother's day only to Devi, because she's basically raising Tenna, who is also a grown woman.
@devi--d
You're doing a brave thing and you deserve the celebration of this day.
Just watched @devi--d pass out face-first into a painting in her living room. She's lucky it was already mostly dry.
This is probably my cue to throw a blanket over her and go the fuck home-
............ Or I could raid her kitchen a little.
Devi and I had a great meal today! Candy corn is surprisingly good in macaroni and cheese.
Devi and I are at a location that will stay undisclosed so as not to agitate her own paranoia, but I will say that it’s lovely. I was considering something for tonight, but… There are hardly any stars. Mildly disappointing. Still, it is nice. We haven’t been on this overlook together since the first time I brought her here.
Devi is blocked because she insinuated that I would steal money from her purse for milk. We all know I don't need to steal milk money, Devi.
Don't pretend you didn't give me $5 just to get out of your apartment last week.
Okay, well I just woke up from that. I doubt my hand will be useful any time soon, it looks and feels like it’s been through a blender. Probably because it has been. More, a blender’s been through it. That blade was sticking out a good inch or two from both sides, any further in and it would have needed to be removed from the opposite direction of that it entered from. One of my fingers appears to have been nearly severed as well...
If I understand the day’s events correctly, I crawled to the bathroom and passed out from blood loss after somehow spearing my hand with a blender blade while also getting it inexplicably wedged between glass and spinning mechanism, Devi entered just in time to see me lose consciousness and then proceeded to rip the blade out of my hand, and then burn the wound shut? That was nice of her, talk about going above and beyond expectation. Thank you, @devi--d, you’re a true friend. I apologize for any trauma my hand toubles and subsequent departure from the waking world may have caused you.
I assume typing would probably be a bigger hassle now, were I not ambidextrious. Lucky break there, I suppose.
The lack of a working pair of hands is certainly going to make taking care of things in the basement more difficult. In all honesty, it’s probably going to make a fairly vast number of things more difficult for some time. Pouring juice, for one thing. Have to be able to grip the cup with one hand while you pour with the other, otherwise it just gets everywhere.
...This entire situation is just going to continue to be an utterly unpleasant experience, isn’t it?
@devi--d
So uh
As we all know, I’m not always the best at expressing emotion in a positive way, but… Well, I have friends now, so I guess it’s expected of me to at least try. And try I have been.
I severely fucked things up the first time I had the chance to express something important and positive with Devi, and then she beat me up and didn’t talk to me for… However long that lasted. A long time. I’d prefer to NOT royally blow it, this time around.
Our relationship is one that’s grown into something entirely different now, but I can’t say I’m unhappy with it. I do and always have liked you immensely, Devi, and the fact that things are different now could never change the sentiment behind those words, even if they are said with a different connotation.
So, happy birthday to my best friend. I’ll try not to pull anything too monumentally horrific today. (Then again, what kind of celebration would it be if I didn’t pull something? Heh.)
I uh. This isn’t. I don’t say… Fuck. Just. God fucking damn it you should know what I mean without me having to drag shit out like this, CURSE YOU DEVI!!! CURSE YOUR INABILITY TO INTERPRET EVERY EMOTION AND THOUGHT THAT GOES THROUGH MY BRAIN WITHOUT ME HAVING TO GIVE YOU CLUES!!! CURSE YOUR HUMAN NATURE!!!!
The POINT is… You’re a person I’ve only grown to admire and care for more as we’ve spent more time together. That’s… That usually goes the opposite direction. I appreciate you. I know we’ve had more than our fair share of (literal and metaphorical) kicking and screaming, but I’m glad that our time spent together these days is primarily positive, and without quite as much underlying fear than it used to contain, on both parts.
Thank you for being in my life again.
Happy birthday, Devi. I love you, and I mean that in the most non-creepy, platonic way possible.
