21. A romantic camping trip turns deadly when something in the woods starts hunting our muses.

"I daresay I trust my own judgement, but are you really sure Silverpines is the best place to 'get away', as you put it? I feel a bit...edgy, with the thought of those Balverines around..."

Reaver glanced around at the area they'd decided to stop at, far away from the small village - more of a settlement, really, overrun with Balverines at every turn - but they'd stopped in and gotten one of their 'silver nitrate torches' on the way out. He doubted the small blue flame would keep the beasts back, but the settlers seemed to swear by them. Maybe the few of them left thought themselves close enough to the torches during the attacks. 

"Afraid, are you?" his counterpart retorted, raising a brow. "If those beasts do attack, we'll shoot them. Simple solution to a simple problem." 

He gave the plan thought for a moment, then shrugged with a quiet sigh. "I guess you're right...On to more important things, then..."

Jack folded his arms across his chest, tilting his head every so slightly, glaring daggers. “I would very much rather stand, if you don’t mind,” he replied, although by his tone it was obvious that he didn’t care whether or not the other man minded at all. Holding up his clawed fingers, he began to examine the metalwork. “I am assuming you called me here for a reason? Come, come, come—I don’t have all day.”

15. Our muses are cadets in Star Fleet academy, they’re new roommates and don’t get along at all.

Reaver didn't glance up as the door to his room opened, his eyes flicking appreciatively across the glossed pages of a rather risque magazine. When the person didn't immediately announce their intent he set the magazine down, looking up with a rather annoyed air. Said annoyance only increased when he saw the suitcases in the other's arms, realizing why he was here. He gave a slight scowl, in the general direction of the baggage as if he could will them to disappear before his new roommate had a chance to move in. He glanced up, taking in the other's appearance - quite similar to his own, and he had to admit, considerably attractive - for a moment. 

"And just what is going on?"

"My, my," Jack breathed as he fell into step behind the rather pompous figure that had just slipped into the tomb. "I had a feeling you dabbled in the occult, but the Shadow Court? Seems a bit out of your league, don't you think?"

He ran a clawed hand along the grooves in the wall, the metal of his armored fingers scraping the stone as he admired the designs. "This was once the Hero of Oakvale's tomb, was it not? I am almost upset they chose to make their home here. Almost."
