To everyone who's ever RPed with me:

I'm sorry that I only seem to break my silence about work these days, but this is a really exciting time for me and I wanted to share it with you guys.

My comic's getting published and is going to be in 20ish stores all over New England. There's a list of stores here, and that list is going to keep growing over the next few weeks. I can't begin to express how thrilled I am. So to all of you who've taken the time to RP with me - thank you. Thank you for making stories with me, for exercising my imagination, for being so patient with replies and being so wonderful and inspiring.

Writing with all of you, and roleplaying in general has been fundamental in getting me where I am. Thank you guys! You have all my love and gratitude.

Website Re-Opening!

HollowTreeComics.com is back online! After days of wrestling with code and faulty servers, our company website is back up and completely overhauled. While only the first five pages of the webcomic are available for now, the rest will be up by the end of the day. Feel free to roam the new site!

Sexual abuse and sadistic torture, especially that of children, are major parts of his character and shouldn't exactly be forgotten. There's nothing wrong with having a crazy attraction to a villain, but I think it's only right to know him through and through before making the decision.

That Will Smith’s character was actually supposed to brush off the whole thing, but Will’s father actually had left him when he was younger and he just fell apart on the set and the hug at the end was from one actor to another, not one character to another…

It’s been a long, hard week here at HTE but we’ve certainly gotten a lot done. Now for a brief respite to celebrate a glorious Easter weekend before getting back to the grind!

Happy moderately disgruntled Easter, everyone. If I haven't gotten to your drafts, it's been because I've had quite a bit to do to prepare for my comic launch in August/September. So many phonecalls... so many hoops to jump through.

And now it's Easter and I'm probably going to be doing some familial celebrating. I'll get to them as quick as a bunny when it's all through! Have a good weekend, guys.

However, an engineering student at Lund University in Sweden has made it happen - making his the first known company in the world to install the vein scanning technique in stores and coffee shops.

Splashed across the papers in lurid detail, black and white but when Ophelia read it, crimson flooded her thoughts. A terrible shame about the animals, disappearing from numerous sanctuaries across the state. She couldn’t help but wonder what the significance was- Perhaps nothing but obscenity. She found it distasteful, wild creatures dragged into human affairs, wasted lives and wasted meat. Tattlecrime.com offered further details, despite herself she looked. Curious girl, she couldn’t help it. 

One moonless night, she sat by the window in her attic bedroom, watching the land spread before her, quilt of forest and field. Ophelias eyes narrowed sharply at a figure cutting quickly across the yard, headed to the enclosures. Her first reaction was fascination, Quickly followed by irritation, Ophelia was a territorial creature, this land was hers and so were the animals.  Swift and silent she left the house, Burberry coat pulled hastily over her slip. She left a quick scrawled note on the kitchen table, just in case, and with her she took a scalpel, veterinary supplies packed in boxes, not yet moved- How fortunate. It was not a wise idea, she moved past the phone, never considering to pick it up and call the police. Off she slipped into darkness, towards the cruel and unusual..

Tranquilizers were a must in those situations, for Niles had little patience for the unholy chorus of noise animals made when alarmed. It was a silenced gun, held carefully in his hand as he approached the enclosures, his ears piqued to listen for watchful footsteps and his goggles set to help him see in the dark of the sanctuary.

He wanted a lamb. They were perfect symbols of innocence, of sacrifice, of offerings to higher powers. In the young surgeon's eyes, the Ripper was an artist of higher caliber, a talent to be appreciated and an ego to be... inflated, or challenged, even.

Niles took one more look around before crouching there in the shadows at the edge of the enclosure behind what cover he could find. He took his aim carefully before firing his shot, wincing at even the quiet noise of the suppressed bullet cutting through the air.

"Doubtful," he agreed as he stepped back himself. He pulled on the ends of his gauntlets and looked around. It was a strange killing. Most bandits would only kill and leave—never take key parts from their victims. Balverines were savage and would never leave this body in tact like this; Hollow-men were uninterested in guts and not this far out from Mourningwood; Hobbes were far too absentminded to do something of this fashion. 

"Rex!" He called, staring over at the dog. There was a pause before he came running over, nudging Will’s leg with his nose. "Find," he pointed to the body, "Lead." The dog paused again before running of ahead of them.

If the healer was at all disturbed or agitated, he did nothing to show it. He followed along at Will's side, watching the motions of the canine bounding excitedly before them. Niles knew where the dog would lead them if he was following the scent - or trail, however carefully he'd attempted to hide it - of blood. The Temple of Shadows was not far, and the closer to it they got the easier it would be to piece together exactly what had happened to the poor man.

"I take it this isn't a common occurrence?" he inquired curiously, taking a sidelong glance at the king. "You hardly seem the type to allow such... extravagant acts of violence among your citizens."
