i don't know what to post right now neither reblog but i found another deviantart alternative called zdiskuss and it screams old deviantart layout and spacehey layout vibes and god damn i wanna join that site but holy shit i haven't post my previous drawings on side7 and domotown yet, so many art sites to join and so little time... </3
Alright so I have been seeing comments a plenty along the lines of "we need a new art site" or "artists need to build their own site" and such and fourth, but there are plenty of existing alternatives clearly to consider, especially with the crashing and burning of buzzly slowly, I dont want aritsts to think there aren't anywhere to post art.
In this list I made off the top of my head I will be sure to list if they allow adult content or not. Please note that I have used all of these, but few I have not used long enough to know everything about them.
ADULT CONTENT ALLOWED:
1. Newgrounds: Adult content? Yes, and it has a filtering system with various levels. Your feed is in chronological order, and no need to dig through settings to set what you do and dont want to see as when you search you can filter out adult, or even filter out only sfw results. https://www.newgrounds.com/
2. Deviantart: Adult content? Nudity and s xual themes are allowed, but I still believe they do not allow uncensored s xual activity still. Shows your following feed in chronological order by default, has groups for sharing art to to gain exposure, and allows for seperate galleries meant for different purposes. https://www.deviantart.com/
3. Itaku.ee: adult content? yes. Fairly new site. Has custom galleries and has your following feed in chronological order. https://itaku.ee/
4.Piczel.tv: adult content? Yes. And is also a streaming platform, and shows your following feed in chronological order. You can also make seperated galleries for your artwork. https://piczel.tv/streams
5.Artfol: adult content? yes. No custom galleries and is currently only available via mobile. https://artfol.co/
6. Pixiv: Adult content? yes. Following feed is in chronological order.
7. Pillowfort: https://www.pillowfort.social/. Adult content? Yes. Shows your feed in chronological order. I believe it still however requires a key
8. Furaffinity.net: Allows adult content? yes. Also allows for custom galleries and gif profile pictures. Your following feed is in chronological order and the discover new page peddles artists of all follower counts. https://www.furaffinity.net/
10. Artstation: allows adult content? no. This is more a website for a professional portfolio if you're looking for a job/to showcase your artist portfolio and is not a social media and does not allow adult content.
I have been searching for good Deviantart alternatives for a while. I am already on paigeeworld and of course here on tumblr, and while I like their simplicity I feel these sites are still a bit lacking in terms of community based functions.
Tumblr only has the reblog system (and a rather crappy UI) and paigeeworld is a strange mix of an art site and tumblr. What I dislike about both is the “like and never look at it again” mentality on both sites. Also the fact that you cannot put loved work into collections or folders and a better system to look through your likes. (but I haven’t sadly found a site yet that provides this feature)
But I stumpled upon two promising sites:
first there is wysp. Which looks kind of like paigeeworld, actually. But the user profiles are more reminiscent of Deviantart. The community isn’t so big yet as I have observed, but with the right amount of exposure it will probably grow.
And then there is nabyn. It’s probably the best deviantart alternative, since its basic structure is based off it. You can even post writing and the profiles are very similiar to DA (minus a few features). The site is made by deviantart user kameloh, who hopefuly will make it an awesome page that does not repeat DA’s errors. It’s still in beta and invite only, but you can contact kameloh to get an invitation.
Will probably sign up in one of these and look how good they are. DA has become really stale and the community seems to be dying slowly. So it’s good to have some other places to post art.
ok i would stop using deviantart but i have no other alternative??? i want people without accounts to still be able to view my art and i want an easy to understand layout and upload base??? like if anyone has any suggestions i’d be more than happy
