I know there is a lot of speculation of an 02 retcon happening, while I am pretty certain it wonât happen since it is Digimon Adventure 03 with Taichi and co. (and how does it make sense of releasing a 03 for definitely Taichi and co and then showing a retcon of 02????). Yet I am one of the guilty ones who wishes an 02 retcon would have existed, since I am not much fond of it, but I do respect those people who do like it. Either way, I for some reason feel incomplete with this. The Digimentals for once, I feel as though instead of picking an egg up and getting an evolution - this could have been used in a better way. Maybe slowly getting all of the Digimentals, like Daisuke should get courage (learn that courage is not being strong with confidence to hide insecurities but fighting against fear and understanding) first, then Miyako knowledge (curiosity~) and Iori honesty, and then later, Ken receives the kindness and Daisuke gets friendship (learning that his opinion is not heard does not mean not distrusting his friends, and there is no âsideâ in a group which means Takeru and so on as well as accepting Ken) which later Iori gets. (yes Iori friendship, his personality always strikes me as that and look how similar his name meaning is with Yamatoâs and also Iori is DNA partners with Takeru - the relationship would be grandiose and Takeru has experience in death with Patamon and having no father figure) and then Miyako gets purity which she later shares/gives to Daisuke (being cool with the fact of not always being the first, appreciating what he always has which is his confident smirk to help people). Later when one of the final fight arrives, then Daisuke gets powered up with Miyako sharing her purity and Iori sharing his honesty Digimentals and so does Ken with Miyako sharing her knowledge and Iori his friendship Digimentals and all this sharing is done via Takeru and Hikari. While all this Iori, due to wanting to have his confrontation with Oikawa, leaves the group while being sure that Ken and Daisuke are handling it with Miyako and Takeru and Hikari and gives completely the Digimental of friendship to Ken and runs to find Oikawa. The group notices but canât get after him. Iori gets the Digimental of love while it for a final discussion and forgiving lecture.
While everyone else arrives. And then at the close end, Daisuke uses his Digimental of miracles while Ken ultimate evolves his Wormmon, Takeru to Seraphimon and Hikari to her ultimate form which offer power for Iori and Miyako to evolve their partners alone to perfect and then Patamon and Gatomon only have enough power for their perfect levels (for that current time, after the fights end, Miyakoâs digimon will still need Hikari so does Iori to Takeru to get to perfect unless they offer power again and so it continues) and at the very end they all sacrifice to get Veemon miracle Digimental form a sword so he and Kenâs Wormmon in ultimate level give the final blast with everyone wishes a the dark ocean.
And throughout the series, a little here and there of sempais and Kouhais (including Takeru and Hikari) and Takeruâs development of letting go that nothing stays the same (family) as well as trusting gut instincts like Ioriâs and Hikariâs when not to fight to give darkness a chance. (In vice versa, Iori learns that sometimes you need to fight). HIkari learns more about Gatomon and gets over hear fear of needing someone because of the fever-experience. Digimentals are old but formed due to the power of crest near them which reformed them and are not like crests since Digimentals are connected (like Digimentals being shared between chosen) and act stronger if whole group shows these traits, again light and hope is different from the rest of them, hence why Takeru and Hikari donât activate them as the others explanations. Digimon Kaiser, Wormmonâs death and all digimon guiding and fighting and forgiving their chosen which they learn with the Digimental activating. Taichi and co are later absorbed in Dark Ocean and the real wonât remember them unless brought back. Oikawa dies and other plot twists I can think of ^-^ and Daisuke- Takeru rivalry is also reformed and Daisuke and Takeru also go through development, Daisuke and Ken as well, Ken has still got his kindness and intelligence and cold attitude but softens up gradually and is really sooorrry. Iori and Ken also have got something to work out but earned it so much to have the Digimental of friendship with him. Miyako has her family too close that she has to always behave and so on, hence why she finally hones with purity and such to learn that it is good for her and to have people and that she always knows how to never lessen your values which helps the group. Takeru and Kaiser Ken have their fist fight as well, later it is Takeru who tells him about the reborn of digimon he hadâŠand Hikari and Ken have their understanding and get the entry to dark ocean for the final fight by doing their best which they learned through the journey. Ken and Miyako as well with intelligence as well as Koushiro at the beginning. Hawkmon being as elegant as ever which ticks Miyako a little bit of, since it reminds her of how she is supposed to behave in the family but learns he is a guardian and Iori learns to loosen up due to Armadillomon. Hikari learns what real suffering is for digimon and learns why she has light, because she always believes in her instincts to love good people, which helps Gatomon to overcome some insecurities as well. Veemon and Daisuke fighting and Daisuke not understanding, but Veemon is the first one who sees Daisuke as cool as he has waited for him which grows an affection to both of them and a bond of suffering together, Iori and Miyako are like sister and brother for knowing each other long and protective as well, despite contrasting personalities. Hikari and Iori are good to talking about calmness and work together to bring more peace. Takeru is the approached strategist in a way, always thinking like an experienced leader while Iori is the just, introverted quiet guy, Hikari compassionate, Daisuke action leader, Ken and Miyako.
Now this is the reason I canât stop of the idea of 02 retconâŠlook how wild it gets in my head D:
