Health Update

Hey all! I'm not dead! DFB is definitely still going to happen, but right now I have other priorities that make it hard to write. Namely, the source of many of my issues has been found, and it's going to be time consuming and exhausting to deal with, but it is fixable! I'll be keeping entries open until either I have enough or my health issues are resolved.

I know last I heard from them @simmeasurable and @kukijar were making sims for me, and I look forward to seeing them!

Clarity Bell! Mother of Prince Cal! In the novel she was a very minor character, mostly mentioned for her resemblance to Cal and that the King adored her. Annabelle tried a few times to find out if she knew anything, but Cal kept her in the dark to keep her safe.

In reality, she tries desperately to keep Cal safe and did know he was trying to cement himself as heir to keep her safe. They both knew she'd be killed without Cal on the throne for birthing a royal bastard and first born, making him the only known heir until Durendal was finally born.

King Rhiwallon Miradon! In the novel he's portrayed as a well-meaning if dim King, who happened to have one affair with a beloved maid. While he doesn't believe the conflict between the princes is that serious, it's because he went through similar as a prince himself, becoming King through being the lone survivor of his brothers.

In reality, he's a lazy, lecherous man who plays blatant favorites with his lovers and sons, favoring Clarity and Durendal, who leaves most of the actual governing to Queen Isobel, and likely has other royal bastards running around. The sad thing is, he's still a miles better king than his father, who got the country out of debt and made more fair taxes and better infrastructure, so he's somewhat beloved for it.

Crown Prince Durendal Miradon! Cal's younger brother. In the novel, he's saved early on due to Annabelle's intervention, which brings her to his attention. He's a kindhearted and sweet boy, and will be a good king. He's devoted to Annabelle from the start, though she takes her sweet time realizing.

While not the smartest, he listens to those he trusts and takes their advice. He's understandably hostile and cold with Cal, because of their rivalry and the attempts to kill him, but he is one of very few who can pronounce his full name. He's polite and friendly with the male leads, but only really gets close to Kellam, due to his being a knight and eventually his personal knight.

Queen Isobel Miradon nee Wenci! In the novel she's a bold supporter of Durendal and Annabelle despite the political difference, and often helps open doors for Annabelle in her investigations of Cal's plots.

Annabelle never figured out why Cal went out of his way to warn her about the Queen and the Wenci family, but does assume it's because he's politically against the Queen, as he wants the throne.

The brooch she wears is the Wenci family crest!

The novel protagonist, Annabelle Angel! The daughter of a country baron, she came to the capitol for the social season only to help foil a plot against Prince Durendal! Shortly after, she discovered more mysteries and plots around the royal family, and began to investigate on her own.

Annabelle was very intelligent and kind, but ironically didn't notice the romantic feelings of most of the male leads for a long time, Durendal included! While ultimately she picked Durendal, she cherished her friendships with the other male leads and not just for how they helped her solve mysteries!

To promote my upcoming thing, here's more artwork! This is Prince Cal as he appears in the in-universe novel, Angel From Above! While he played a dumb, hotheaded brute in the novels, Annabelle figured out he was secretly not just very cunning, but the mastermind behind every conflict and sabotage, including pitting the various male leads against each other.

While he was never really mean to Annabelle, he did often get cross with her and treat her coldly, and very occasionally would intervene in situations that had her in danger. He also warned her early on to be wary of the queen, but Annabelle never figured out why, as the queen adored her and even supported her relationship with Durendal.

As many as you like! But second submissions will be given lower priority over people's first submissions. I will make an exception if someone makes a set of twins or siblings, possibly, but priority will be given to everyone's first submission until August, and then everyone else will be considered in order of priority of submission, so seconds will be considered before thirds and so on. So if someone does make twins/siblings, please indicate who you'd like to consider your "first" submission or if you'd rather leave it up to me. Unless I get like, 40+ submissions though this priority thing probably won't matter.
