I hope you don't mind me sending you an ask! I think in one of your posts you talked about the meaning of Madara being born on the 24th of December and not the 25th, right? And I was wondering if you would be so kind and share your thoughts on Madara being a Capricorn? I'm just curious if there are any charasteristics of a Capricorn that would go with Madara's character? And are there any characteristics of a Capricorn that don't fit Madara's characterization in your opinion?

Oh, and if you could share some of your headcanons/thoughts on Izuna and his astrology sign, that would be really great!

You are asking me to fuse my two obsessions : Madara and Astrology and you ask if I don't mind ? 🤩

I've been waiting my whole life for this moment !

I love this ask thank you for this, actually your timing is perfect I was already working on a headcanon birth chart where I'm guessing their 12 planets placements of both Madara and Izuna so talking about their suns can be a nice foretaste.

Both brothers if we are talking about their sign archetypes, in my opinion, got a relationship that I call Devil Twins. Capricorn and Aquarius are really close signs who can sometimes be mix up, because they are following one after the other. Capricorn 21st Dec-20thJan, Aquarius 20thJan-21stFeb. Both are located in Winter. One represents the darkest day of the year, the other is the coldest temperatures of the year. Both are ruled by the same planet Saturn. All 12 zodiac signs have a dark side but both Capricorn and Aquarius are classic choice for a good villain character. The Capricorn in popular culture is the cold dictator, while the Aquarius is the Mad Scientist.

But first what do we mean when we talk about someone's sun ? It's not exactly what you are(this is ascendant), it's rather what you aspire to be during your life time. The sun is your will, the social authority you project into the world, In a nutshell, it's your branding. And this branding can be more or less fragile since there is always people or situations ready to ruin this image of yourself by making you showing your emotion (Moon), or teasing your passion (mars) ect...

Back to our favorite villain. Madara embodies perfectly the Capricorn's Ego, it's almost a caricature. He is always trying to show a self-control image of himself in public. No superfluous manners, unbothered, introvert thinker, silent observer, sharp and concise comments only if judged necessary. Preference for practical and logical solutions over emotional ones. He remembers only names that matter. An absessive drive to competition. Go-getter. A frustration that he never had enough power. He's always complaining when people don't follow his plan. A fixation on planning and controlling future. And of course a crazy ambition with a very long-term strategy.

His limit is that Madara is actually a character very expressive and sensitive. As a child, he was loosing easily his temper, and showed a very caring and loyal nature for his family and friends. As adult, even if he gets better with hiding his emotion and keeping a stern facade if you know him enough you can guess his micro-expression , he still can't help himself and doing action for the sake of showing off. He appreciates a lot spotlights. And absolutely can't contain his passion for fighting strong belligerents. His keen knowledge of how manipulating darkness in people is actually a perversion of his sensitive nature. Because he had been emotionally hurt so badly, he knows exactly how to hurt others with the same intensity. Like a vampire's bite curse.

For Izuna's headcanon, I based his personality as both complementary to Madara. It explains their closeness and the void his death has created. Izuna is also an alternative version of Obito. Zodiacal archetype is just a way for me to have a skeleton, then up to me to customise as I wish.

Kishimoto told us that both Obito and Izuna were born the same day 10th of February, I don't think it happened with any other characters so I will guess it was intentional, and both of them were in a tight collaboration with Madara.

Aquarius is one of rare signs ruled by two planets. Saturn and Uranus. For thousands of years, Saturn always has been the most distant planet you can observe in the sky with naked eyes. Thus it is associated with the limit of physical world, the bones, old age, time passing and ultimately death.

Uranus is a planet discovered in modern time, what is interesting is that ancient astronomers already noticed Uranus but thought it was a star. Thus Uranus represents the progress of science, a new astronomical lenses is needed to see Uranus. It's the only planet from the solar system with an horizontal axis tilt rooted its association with revolution, eccentricity, brutal changes, electricity, high tech.

So based on what I just said there is two archetypes of Aquarius. The Saturnian Aquarius and the Uranian Aquarius. Obito represents in my eyes the Uranian influence. More chaotic, unpredictable, with sudden change of personality. But I delve deeper on him here : Madara & Obito : awakening the Master of Chaos

So what About Izuna ? He's from a past generation, a traditional Saturnian Aquarius is quite fitting. This type makes me think of the idea of the Architect. Someone both well knowledgable of structures, rules but also a creative. Unless Capricorn who is most focus like an Engineer on dominating the structure pre-existing, Aquarius won't hesitate to twisted the rules, break it down and rebuilt a new one to serve their will. Their is as well in the Architect archetype a balance of hard sciences and genius inspiration to go ahead of his time. This Aquarius seems more detached, intellectual more inclined to abstracted concepts, more concerned about the collective.

In my HC :

Izuna is indeed calm and charming character on surface but elusive. Unless you're part of his close family, you're not sure about what he actually likes, but he can make you confess your whole life with kind words and a smile.

He is rationalise his emotion. Madara have intense emotions burst (hence the extraordinary power of his sharingan) but he just chose to hid them and locked them in his heart. Izuna just naturally put a distance of his own and analyse them. Contrary to his brother, he's got better social skills, and he's more approachable. In the downside, it makes him awkward to express his true feelings. He always escapes it through a light joke.

He's both fascinated and envious of Madara's charisma. How can he inspired authority without a single word? It's mystery to him. And in return Madara envies his abilities to always fit in society and expressing himself clearly.

They have generally an healthy competition, and Izuna knows how to irritate Madara. Younger they had endless fights for anything : first in shower, first to eat ect... Because he's the youngest and he needs recognition.

Adult Izuna is a die-hard supporter of Madara as a leader and an elder. Yet In private he is not scared to criticize and opposes him. It's actually coming from both side. If you are an Uchiha and you don't know how to roast people and answer back, you can't survive !

Izuna is a different kind of dangerous shinobi. Perfect for infiltration and spying. At the first sight, as soon as you catch his smile he is calculating your value. He can pretend being your best friend, a passionate lover for months without loosing focus on his mission. And when it's done, he comes back home with no feeling of attachment or regret. The only loyalty he hold strong is the Uchihas clans. The rest is temporary allies.

Warring state era is pushing people traits to the extreme. During missions Izuna is the one mostly responsible to extract information through torture. Not that Madara can't do it, but Izuna is more patient and got no limits in mentally torturing people and enslave them emotionally and as a result is able to extract more informations than his brother. To him in order to survive, in a war there is not distinction between shinobi and civilians.

Tobirama is the only known Senju who survive and escape his cruel dojutsu alive.

During a battlefield, his abilities to be cold blooded help him to always being aware of the bigger picture around him , even in a one on one sparring. He doesn't have the audacity of his older brother but he is better at thinking a strategy for a whole group.

Hence why I call them the devils twins, combined together, Madara is the destructive storm ready to conquer, Izuna the watchtower seeing all around, hearing everything.

When he advised Madara to not trust the Senju. It was not just out of curse of hate. While Madara was just talking to Hashirama as his friend. Izuna even deadly wounded can see clearly Hashirama, Tobirama, the Senju armies, the power of elders senjus, the Senju ascendance over them. He always put the clan first, the Senjus didn't give offer any assurance for the Uchihas' security.

Ladies, I'm sorry to say but Izuna is not the loyal type. I know he said you are the only one, I know he promises you to come back... but look at him : pretty face, sense of humour, irresistible charm, best liar, don't you think there is a queue? He manages to have different affairs in different cities he got a mission. And the audacity to call them secret sources but no one complain since they always give to the clan valuable information. And what's wrong with mixing work and pleasure he would say?

Madara is the only one who can detect Izuna's actor studio skills immediately. His tricks has no effect on him.

Oh and last thing if he promises you marriage. That's a lie. He is already engaged to his cousin.
