god the sochi silver squad is truly cursed... both gus kenworthy and devin logan won silver medals for ski slopestyle in 2014 and they both fucked up during finals this year and ended up nowhere near the podium :/

Hold an Olympic Medal: February 21st, 2014

So, here’s the thing: my dad told me that I would never get close to an Olympic Medal due to the lack of athletic ability running through my veins (thanks mom and dad). Therefore, I told him that I could totally touch an Olympic medal. Cue Devin Logan, Olympic Silver Medalist for Freestyle Ladies Ski Slopestyle at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. She came home early from the Olympics to do some television appearances and her mom happened to have some friends in my hometown. I work in a shoe store back home and Devin decided that she needed some new shoes and in she strolled. My co-worker, Tim, was ringing her up and mentioned that her jacket was “intense” and she explain that was because it was a real Olympic jacket. Jokingly, Tim asked her how she did and BAM! she pulls a silver medal out of her pocket and it was the coolest thing in the entire world. I was so glad that she was so nice and let us really get a good look at it. I remember Devin signed a bunch of autographs for us and my boss was freaking out about the whole thing because how often do you get an Olympian in your shop??? I told Devin about my dad (see tweet) and she was happy to help me accomplish my goal. I remember calling my dad after Devin left and I was nearly in tears over the fact that I was just that close to a real Olympic medal (but mostly because I proved my dad wrong and who doesn’t love proving their father wrong).
