Who are your favorite short trackers? Who do you hope to see in Sochi?
My favorites... ohhh... That is such a hard question for me to answer!! I started watching because of Apolo back in 2002, so he will always be my absolute favorite. But I really love all of the 2010 guys. So if I had to choose I would want to see JR, Travis, and Jordan get to go again. (and Simon my BB... :( ) But I also really like Jeff Simon and John-Henry. I've met Jeff and Travis in person (and Apolo, twice) and they're SO amazingly nice. I think Jeff would have an amazing story to tell if he got to go. I have a hard time choosing between the Kyle's. Kyle U is a really nice guy, but I think right now Carr is just skating better.
So my top five men would be JR, Travis, Jordan, Jeff, J-H, and Kyle C. But I don't know how likely it is for Jordan to make the team again. I'm hopeful.
For the girls: Aly Dudek is my favorite. She is ridiculously nice in person. Tamara is good and Lana is AMAZING. So I'd love to see all three of them make it. I think Sarah Chen is going to be huge, I saw her skate at Jr. Nat's last year. She kicked ass and we share a birthday, so there's THAT. I was sad to see Kat Reutter retired. But at least we still have Berlys! So for girls: Aly, Tamara, Lana, Sarah, Berlys?
I haven't been able to watch many of the cups this year, but I'm so excited about World Champs and trials next fall. :) I wouldn't be surprised if we had a few surprised on a few "newbies" make the team next year.
