In Case You Missed It...
If you didn’t catch these fanfics when I was posting them, I thought I’d put them out here again. Maybe you’d like to read for the first time while social distancing or read them again, if you enjoyed them the first time. 😊

14 Days of Love 💕 🐎 🌱 - #3. Marita Peters and Sean Logan (Legacy)
Being that it was the late 19th century, there was no way Marita Peters and Sean Logan would have had any chance at a happy life together, especially in the south – Lexington, Kentucky, if there story was real life. But it wasn’t and thus the potential of what their story could’ve been was teased on the show Legacy. In the short time that they were on air, and with the few scenes they had together, their chemistry shined, and they were a joy to watch. Marita Peters was a smart, educated woman, who was the secretary for Sean Logan’s rich father, who owed a lucrative horse breeding business. While Sean, the eldest of four children, was fighting to make a name for himself, become his own man by growing his tobacco business and his interest in politics. Through his work and the years of friendship between their families, he and Marita grew close, with them coming to realize in each other they found what they desired in a life mate. According to Chris Abbott, the writer and executive producer of Legacy, the plan was to eventually have Marita and Sean marry and have the show explore the struggles they faced in attempting to navigate the segregated and prejudice south, being a married interracial couple of affluence. However, the show was cancelled after one season with these ideas never coming to fruition, and thus leaving us fans to read and in my case write fanfiction that expanded on the potential that was their love and intriguing stories it could’ve spun:

“Don't move.” / “Mike?” / “Briggs. Let me see your hands.” / “Mike, what are you doing here?” / “Back away from the body.” / “Warren, what are you...” / “Back away.” / “Agent Warren. What the hell is this?” / “Sir...” / “Goddammit, Mike, would you please put the gun away, unless you're gonna shoot me? Pull out your cell phone and call Johnny.” / "Johnny's following Ari to arrest him.” / “Can I ask you a question, Mike? Who's on Toros?” / “Nobody.” / “Nobody. Would you please get the car now?” / “All right, let's move.” / “Just drive, Mike.”

Interesting to see him pulling at his collar repeatedly as he's panicking in the car: of course, he’s wearing the vest and, dramatically speaking, this serves as a parallel to Paige getting choked as they speak, but also, character-wise, I wonder if this will be shown as a tic for him hearkening back to his “deaths” (’cos I’m pretty sure his second time was thanks to the “help” ijs...). The way he keeps looking back to Briggs for direction now that he’s lost is pretty sad.

“I must say, it rarely takes me three full days to be granted an audience.” / “Truly, sir, I'm sorry.” / “Some time ago you came to my office. You said you know Paul Briggs. You said you know what he's capable of. What is Paul Briggs capable of?” / “I'm not sure I'm following, sir.” / “What's he planning?” / “I don't think he's planning anything. I think he's committed to taking down the Sarkissians, despite the fact that you're going got make him take the fall for it. You backed him into an impossible corner.” / “Agent Warren?” / “Sorry. I wish I had more to tell you. If Paul's up to something, it's news to me. Anything else, sir?” / “No, you're free to go.”
