DEVIN- “I know I shouldn’t see you before the wedding, but I don’t believe in superstitions..... I had to kiss you before everyone got here......
THYMIAN- “Devin, I am so happy for you!! Congratulations!”
DEVIN- “It’s a great day, but bittersweet, Ty.”
THYMIAN- “ Bittersweet? Why do you say that?”
DEVIN- “I am moving to Parisims, and you will be going to Alexandrian soon, Starting our lives in worlds apart.”
THYMIAN- “Not to worry, Devin, we will always be a phone call, or plane ride away...”
(I apologize for the less than normal quality of my edits for the next few posts. I uninstalled reshade, as my computer was lagging. It took a couple posts to get my editing skills back to par without it.)
DEVIN- “So, what did you think of Pepsi?”
THYMIAN- “I really liked her. She is brilliant. I love her ability to make the piano feel like it is an instrument of the heart instead of a string instrument!!”
DEVIN- “So did you get to play for her?”
THYMIAN- “I did.”
DEVIN- “And??...did she like it?”
THYMIAN- “She didn’t really say actually. But she accepted me into her class, I start next Saturday.”
DEVIN- Oh, she like you then...so how was your Homecoming Dance, and your date with the Bachman boy?”
THYMIAN- “It was okay. I mean, not being in a school setting, I am having a hard time adjusting to high school teen life. I have been around adults all my life, not my peers. It was okay though. Graham is different than most of the other teenagers I have gotten to know.”
DEVIN- It may be due to him being on his own for the most part, but how so?”
DEVIN- Hey, Nico...I thought I would take Thymian to Windenburg today to meet Pepsi Schumer. She is a music theory professor at Windenburg University and teaches piano on the weekends.”
NICO- “Oh, I see, that sounds good. Thymian is already pretty good, having some formal lessons will just make her even better.”
THYMIAN- “Yeah, I thought so too, and this lady is really good from what Devin says.”
NICO- “Good luck, how about when you guys get back, you stay for dinner, Devin? I wanted to talk to you about an investment I was thinking about.”
DEVIN- “That’s not my expertise, as I have accountants do all of that for me, but I can at least maybe give you some advise.”
NICO- “Great, see you guys at dinner then. It is really nice out today, I am sure Windenburg is going to be beautiful.
Thymian went to open the door, and it was Devin, there to take her to Windenburg...
THYMIAN- “Uncle Devin!! Thanks for this...”
DEVIN- “Sure, it is my pleasure, but Uncle Devin??? You have never called me that.”
THYMIAN- “Well, maybe it’s time I do, I mean you are my uncle.”
DEVIN- “Yeah, I guess, I mean yeah I suppose I am. Never even thought about it.”
NICO- “Hey guys, where are you two headed off to?”
THYMIAN- “It was good running into you, Devin!”
DEVIN- “Yes, and now we have our date...I mean our dinner to look forward to tomorrow!”
THYMIAN- “Then it’s all just dances and field research after that!! Right?”
THYMIAN- “I am sure I can handle Graham Bachman. I mean it’s just a school dance. It’s not like I am going to date him or anything...”
DEVIN- “Okay, I will stop trying to be your big brother...Just keep you eyes on him!”
THYMIAN- “I assure you, I will. So what are you doing in Willow Creek, I thought you were going on that field research thing.”
DEVIN- “I leave on Friday. Just coming into town and getting a few things for the trip. So, you never called for that dinner we were supposed to have.”
THYMIAN- “Oh, I am sorry, I just have been so busy with school and everything. We will, I promise!”
DEVIN- “Hopefully before Friday.”
THYMIAN- “Definitely. How about tomorrow night?”
DEVIN- “Sure. Sounds great I can pick you up around 6:00?”
THYMIAN- “That will be perfect.”
DEVIN- “Awesome, so it’s a date.”
THYMIAN- A minute ago you were calling yourself my big brother, and now you are saying we have a date....that’s a little weird, Devin.”
DEVIN- “You know what I meant...”
DEVIN- “Graham Bachman is bad news, Ty!”
THYMIAN- “He seems harmless, Devin. How do you know? Do you know him?”
DEVIN- “I know his family. His older brother Harland was a year younger than me. He was in and out of juvenile centers from junior high school on. He actually just got out of jail not long ago, I heard. Something about a convenient store he robbed in San Myshuno.”
THYMIAN- “I don’t think Graham has the intelligence for something like that.”
DEVIN- “Don’t be fooled by his dim-wittiness, as you called it. The Bachmans are from the East Side of town, and neither have had much parental guidance.”
THYMIAN- “I am not easily fooled, Devin. Remember?”
DEVIN- “Oh...yeah right. You read minds. What I am saying is just be careful. Their father is a hardened criminal, serving time for bank robbery. Ask your father, I am sure he probably went to school with his dad. Their mother is an alcoholic, and seems to like the company of several men in town. They are just bad news.
