The Doctrine of Perseverance and Flowers for Kasumi Merge

Hello! Back in 2017, I released a demo for a game called Flowers for Kasumi. Like the previous rendition of The Doctrine of Perseverance, the project was abandoned as I proceeded through college and working full-time. Some of my followers, probably very few, might recognize this title. This project currently is on hiatus until the complete version of The Doctrine of Perseverance.

However, I did want to make a small announcement in regards to this! At least one member from this project will be in The Doctrine of Perseverance — Isaac! (Formerly Issei/ Mr. Adachi) Some other characters in FFK will see name changes as well in the future.

Here's his updated sprite! The left is from a premade asset from the original demo, while the right is his sprite in game currently. Below also is a short from the old sprites in 2018 I drew of him as well!

Less than a month to go, Bandits!!!!

Today I want to draw your attention to the font options. The full game will have an open dyslexic option to make it more accessible or provide a bolder font for those who would like one.

Ross assisted in helping us make it look presentable. Initially it said “spacing who?” and was all crammed together, then it decided to be a free and independent font and burst from the confines of the dialogue box. But now it’s found a happy medium.

This game in a nutshell? Let’s hope they last, Tom!

We also added a message that pops up letting you know when you unlocked the Side Story, and that it needs to be beaten in order to unlock the final route. The lack of communication left a couple beta testers a bit confused as to why the Alma Mater was incomplete. Their confusion is your benefit! Mwahaha!

AND! I got through all of the beta tester feedback! Made the last group of glossary cards including octave and piccolo. Fixed some more typos though I’m sure some will still slip through. Gotta keep telling myself that no matter how perfect we try to make it, perfection doesn’t exist. :P

Alex still needs to finish her play-through. She has Tom and Final routes left.

Just one more WIP Wednesday left!!! 0_0 Then you’re off to Camp Bearpaw! And I’m off to Hyrule. We’re so close!!! AAAAA!!!!!!
