DeVORE Fidelity Orangutan O/Bronze Speakers Now On Demo and Sounding Truly Amazing!
Hi Everyone,
For anyone that has been in the shop over the last couple of years will know that I have become a bit of a fan of DeVORE FIDELITY Speakers and I am delighted to say that we now have the new O/Bronze speakers on demo in the stunning American Walnut finish meaning that we now have every speaker DeVORE Fidelity produce on demo, everything from the Micr/O all the way up to the incredible O/Reference's.
DeVORE Fidelity are now one of our top speaker brands with so many people loving their big open soundstage and natural presentation, I know it is a cliche but they really do bring the artist into the room so when I saw that DeVORE had a new and improved version of their multi award winning O/96 speaker I placed my order for a demo pair straight away. Now I must be honest I absolutely love the O/96's and I was very sceptical how much of an improvement the O/Bronze could bring to the party as obviously they look the same with just the Bronze trim round the drivers and the ports at the rear but how wrong was I, these really take everything we like about the O/96's to the next level, they may look very similar but John DeVORE really has worked his magic again.
For the demo setup I used the Trafomatic Rhapsody 300B integrated amp along with the new dCS Lina X Dac/Streamer with Atlas Arran cables, for me this is a really well balanced system to go with the O/Bronzes that admittedly isn't cheap but certainly isn't crazy money compared to what can be spent in HiFi and it creates a pretty special audio experience in my view.
Firstly they share the tweeter from the O/Reference's so straight away you get a much sweeter top end, thanks also to the new 10" paper cone woofer and cast Bronze chassis from the O/References there is no doubt to me that there is a touch more warmth in the mid but it is the bass weight and depth that I just can't get over, the bass is quite different from the O/96's, it is so tight, fast and powerful, it keeps catching me out, it really is damn addictive, without trying to sound like too much of a fan boy I would go as far to say that the O/Bronze is the perfect speaker, I have to say that I am quite excited to get the Wilson Sabrina V on demo to compare against these, I know that they are very different speakers but they are both around that £30k mark so I can see this being a really popular demo going forward.
So basically the O/Bronze is a O/96 taken to the next level and improved in every single area, not by a huge amount but enough to make them a very special speaker indeed. When we unboxed them last Saturday I stayed at work till pretty late as I just couldn't stop trying different tracks, I just couldn't pull myself away and they really did excel at every genre of music I threw at them, from Buddy Holly to Rammstein, these really are a speaker that can play anything exceptionally well.
So as you can tell I am a bit of a fan and I can see quite a few O/96 customers upgrading to Bronzes's going forward as the improvements are there to be heard quite clearly, obviously the O/96's are still an incredible speaker but it is brilliant that DeVORE now offer a speaker that helps fill the gap up to the O/Reference, for me the O/Bronze is basically a 2 box version of the O/Reference's for £90,000 cheaper, now that really can't be bad news, I am actually putting together a 2nd system at home and now I have heard the O/Bronzes nothing else will do, luckily Wendy loves them too.
So I'll shut now but if you would like to come in for a demo anytime please feel free, I have had them running for 2 weeks now everyday and they are now really starting to open up.

Since I'm doing the rounds of the early seasons of Voyager, I wish some erstwhile Kazon stumble into Voyager again and earn the ire of Later Season!Janeway.
Her general IDGAF attitude and faster sable rattling + genuine threat to blow a nasty guy out of the water is always fun and even more fun when it's against a Kazon.
I'd love to see a Kazon try their nonsense on later seasons Janeway.
Or somehow, they stumble into the Year Of Hell!Janeway.
Seriously, that would be a suicide run for a Kazon.
I seldom agree with fan-received wisdom, but it's on the money when it comes to Kazon. Especially since there are some Borg enhancements to Voyager now. And Seven has the Borg impatience for Kazon.
They commit the worst sin a villain can commit, they're boring.
