Braid flowers into your hair
And dance to the lyre’s sweet song!
Lift your hands to the sky
And sing praise to the great Gods
Fair Mousai and Kharites,
Let us sing of Zeus first,
Cloud Driver and Thunderer.
He, the last son of Kronos,
Founded a new age of Gods.
May He continue to rule over all
With justice, grace and wisdom.
Let us then speak praises
Lotus Crowned and Cow-eyed,
With whom Zeus shares His bed
As His queen and consort.
May She continue to bless
Our marriages and children
With joy, happiness, and love.
Let us bring tribute to Poseidon,
Lord of the oceans and tides.
Trident Wielder and Earth Shaker,
Among the dolphins and fish.
May He continue to protect men
Hail, Poseidon Asphalius!
Lay praise like sheaves of wheat
Comely Gardener and Bountiful,
She brings us the seasons and the harvest.
As the mother of Persephone,
She walks the furrows of the fields,
Awaiting Her daughter’s return.
May She continue to bless our tables
With fruits, grains, and vegetables.
Before we can speak of the Underworld,
Pound the earth to catch Hades’s ear.
Crowned in Poplar Leaves and Dark-haired,
He, the eldest son of Kronos,
Rules over the departed souls of men.
May He continue to welcome
Warmly and fairly the deceased.
Last but not least of the Kronides,
Homemaker and Flame-wreathed,
She watches over the hearth.
Both first and last born of Kronos,
She receives our offerings twice.
May She continue to bless
Our homes, our hearths, and our meals.
Let us celebrate the beauty Aphrodite,
Sprung from the sea foam.
She kindles longing within us.
May She ever be our guide
Forget not to laud Aphrodite’s lover,
Golden Helmed and Courageous,
He is the ally of the warrior,
Both foreign and domestic.
May He continue to rally men
To protect the people and country.
Let us extol the glories of Athena,
Wreathed in Olives and Gray-eyed,
She counsels men and Gods
With logic and ingenuity.
May She continue to educate men
With wisdom and innovation.
Hail, Athena Coryphagenes!
Sing of the lame God Hephaestus,
Cast from Olympus by Hera.
Flame Tamer and Ingenious,
And creates inventions for all.
May He continue to employ
His skills, brains, and gifts for men.
And raise a toast in honor of Dionysus,
Ivy-wreathed and Frenzied,
Both spirit and madness in equal parts.
With lucidity and joy as well.
Hail, Dionysus Eleuthereus!
Pause again to knock on the ground
And gain Persephone’s attention.
Touched by Shadows and Knowing,
Holds both life and death in Her sway.
May She look kindly upon mankind
Both in the springtime and in death.
Hail, Persephone Praxidice!
Use cunning and sweet words
To beguile Hermes into tarrying.
Crowned with Wings and Sojourner,
He carries messages for the Gods
And He tricks the unwary ones.
In speech, in business, and in journeys.
Sing a song in honor of Artemis,
Virgin Goddess of the Hunt.
Wreathed in Evergreens and Far-shooting,
The twin daughter of Zeus
Walks in the forests and meadows.
May She continue to watch over
Our young girls and the wilderness.
Hail, Artemis Selasphorus!
Praise with a lovely melody Apollon,
Laurel-wreathed and Shining,
Leads the Mousai in celebration.
Our doctors, our prophets, our boys.
Fair Mousai and Kharites,
We thank You for Your aid.
We brought praise and offerings
To all these Gods this day.
Now we leave this sacred ground
