Special Collections After Hours | Reading Blessings on the Prophet

Illuminated opening of Isl. Ms. 1044, an 18th century North African manuscript copy of Dalāʼil al-khayrāt wa-shawāriq al-anwār fī dhikr al-ṣalāh ʻalá al-nabī al-mukhtār, a compendium of prayers and blessings on the Prophet Muhammad compiled by the Moroccan mystic Abū ʻAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān al-Jazūlī (d.1465)

Ms. Codex 313 -  [Miscellany of theological and devotional works]

This manuscript is a collection of works of a theological and devotional nature, including a letter by Saint Jerome and the life of Saint John the Hermit. It was originally written in Italy in the 15th century, mostly in Italian with some Latin.

Ms. Roll 1563 - [Devotional Roll]

The beauty of rolls! This is a roll of prayers in Latin (with some rubrics in Middle English), with some portions unfortunately illegible.  It was written in England in the 15th century.
