You know what would be great? If the devs at some point released romance tales from the LI's perspective. Bc I know what my apprentice is thinking when she's being soft with her LI (Muriel) but I wanna get his perspective, I want all of the blushy feelings

Meet my MC Sable! They’re me but like 2 inches taller! I wrote their backstory while I was bored at work so it’s below the cut cause its long as hell oops

They’re a magician from a small country to the south called Xíca. They are a magician working with the local death goddess and came from a family of healers. When an epidemic hit their town their mother and grandmother were the cities best healers, but the epidemic continued to spread. When their mother got sick she tried to send away the children to live with family in another country. Sable’s twin took the four youngest and fled but Sable insisted on staying to combat the epidemic and care for their mother. After she passed, their grandmother insisted that they flee the city to join their siblings. They wanted to fight her on it but could not argue with the matriarch. Sable left and tried to join their siblings but the boat they boarded ran off course and wrecked in Vesuvia where the plague was just beginning to spread.

Once there, they were found by Julian and Asra. Immediately they became interested in Julian’s line of work, still hoping to bring some relief to Xíca. They didn’t speak Vesuvian and were brought to the palace to find someone who could translate. Valdemar knew the language and was able to translate and relay what had happened. Valdemar was interested in the epidemic (naturally) and Sable developed an interest in medicine. They learned Vesuvian quickly and they began to learn and practice medicine under Julian while learning the arcana from Asra and blending it with their native magic in order to heal. They found themself in the dungeons often, becoming more comfortable around Valdemar since they were the first person they could talk to, and the only one who could understand Xíca. They went between working at Julian’s clinic and the dungeons. Valdemar had encountered the epidemic before and had notes on it and occasionally would share information with Sable. They became used to their presence and came to enjoy their company. Sable began to develop feelings for the doctor who decided to entertain the relationship since they don’t often have the opportunity to closely observe the behaviors of living humans and had come to enjoy their conversations about the overlap of medicine and magic. They kept the relationship secret and fairly casual.

During their time in Vesuvia, Sable had learned to mix their knowledge of magic and medicine. Once Sable had gathered enough information and skills to find a treatment for the epidemic they began making plans to return to Xíca. They wrote two letters, one to their siblings and one to their grandmother. Before they could leave they contracted the plague and Valdemar put them under their care. Their symptoms complicated due to the dormant epidemic virus in their system. Once the plague had run its course and Sable was believed to have expired, they became one of Valdemars subjects. Due to the complications caused by the virus, Sable appeared dead but was not. Their body was in a catatonic state but they were vaguely aware. Discovering this, Valdemar proceeded with their dissection turned vivisection more delicately. After taking their notes and sewing up the body, they put Sable in the care of another of the doctors with the intention of checking on them periodically. The doctor instead sent them to the Lazaret to be burned, believe it to be a waste of his time. (that doctor was next on the vivisection table.) 

Asra was close with Sable since he’d given them a place to live and had found the unsent letters written in Xíca. He shared them with Julian who reluctantly took them to Valdemar to translate. Valdemar held on to the letters rather than give them back to the magician.

Prior to their death, Sable’s life was defined by periods of violent and difficult change, which they always faced head on. During their first life they are associated with the upright Death arcana.

They have a tattoo of a heart pierced by long needles on their chest. This is a common tattoo among the healers in their family. The tattoo represents the cost of being a healer. 

They also have a full back tattoo of a robed skeleton lovingly supporting a smaller skeleton with needles piercing their heart symbolizing their connection with their patron from their home land.

Their personality type is INFP 

Their rising sign is cancer and their moon is sagittarius.

They’re fairly reserved and prefer to observe than be in the middle of things. They can also be very headstrong and are not afraid to throw down when the need arises. 

They’re 5'2, and have a heavy accent, and they have a pitbull familiar named Xochitl and a chihuahua named Malo.

Why they even got rid of the spar option so I can gift something to a very grumpy builder.

While he has Gingers dialogue, gifting seems to do nothing which means I can’t get him to friends status to give him a GOSH. DARN. HEARTKNOT.
