what do you think of dexbloss? I see it a lot here, but i don’t get the hype.

Oh I got into it because I saw two friends from when I was in the Roleplaying Community interact as them and I thought it was really cute 💖
I think it was them admiring each other what got me? Dexter really likes superheroes, and Blossom really likes people with talent. I think they have a shared passion for doing good in the world 🌎✨
And over the decade I’ve seen people make comments about how they wouldn’t work because their egos would clash, but that’s a very shallow reading of their personalities actually 😬
Like, I’ve seen people misremembering Blossom’s personality as very egocentric, and thinking Dexter is incapable of being nice to a girl just because his sister makes him angry, but Blossom is actually a very chill girl, and Dexter admires Dee Dee and really cares about her.
Over the years, I’ve come to realize the ship has as as many haters as it has fans.
I’ve seen people tend to suggest Dextercup would work better in that sense because the Cartoon Network magazine hinted at it, but honestly if you think Blossom and Dexter clash, Buttercup and Dexter wouldn’t survive the first disagreement; Buttercup is a little violent when she’s in a bad mood and tends to run away from home, and Dexter tends to ignore the problems and doesn’t apologize unless they start eating at him, and I’m guessing he’d be too scared to try to find her 😬
I think the most vocal haters have been the BrickBlossers because it’s hinted as lowkey canon in the show. I used to ship it when I was a kid, and I think it has a lot of potential for amazing fanfics, but I personally grew to like DexBloss more. ( Don’t tell the Governor, but BrickBloss kinda cancels the allegations of DexBloss having clashing egos 🤭🤫 ) Because if you think Blossom would run the opposite direction the moment they have one disagreement, it would be nothing Brick and Blossom wouldn’t have experienced. Brick is a tough guy villain, Dexter is a nerd and a hero who has a sister, so I think we know who has the softer temper 😗🎵 Plus Craig McCracken has mentioned doesn’t really care about PPG x RRB, that he thought the characters were too young to date, and thought the shipping push talk was weird anyway, so why bother?
They’re not bad ships though, I think all ships have their problems, but being aware of them make the Fanfics more interesting, I just don’t support the fandom drama. You can criticize a ship, it’s valid, just don’t be a jackass and leave unwanted comments on people’s posts ✋😒
Now that the “Egos Clashing” argument is out of question, I think their chemistry would go deeper than having similar interests.
Emotionally speaking, Dexter yearns for a friend he can talk about science with. He has Douglas in the show, and he fills the space just right, but if he can also have that with his romantic prospects? It would be perfect 👌👌👀💯 He hates competition though, he doesn’t like to be corrected. He kicked out a girlfriend he had in the comics because she criticized his blueprints, so if his partner’s dynamic could go deeper than science it would make their relationship more solid.
People tend to think Blossom’s interest is science, but her true passion is saving the world. She’s not just nerdy, she wants to be a role model, and she likes to be well rounded. People tend to write her too reserved because she’s an intellectual, but the show indicates that she’s very social, and she enjoys caring for her looks. I think it’s important to remind people that a woman can enjoy their beauty and still be considered intellectuals, I mean Blossom looks up to Miss Bellum as a role model, not just because she’s a respectable adult in her life, but because she’s confident about her femininity and her work.
It’s a show written by (predominately) straight men, so some of the jokes are a bit male-oriented, but Blossom has been hinted at admiring the female body. She’s delivered a couple of remarks on Miss Bellum’s body in the show, like that joke where she puts stuffed animals in her chest, so one can assume she pays attention to that. She also tells Wonder Woman in a crossover that she looks up to her, and makes a comment about how she looks up to having a body like hers 😅 Oof, and well, Dexter’s Laboratory was also written by this staff, and Dexter has been shown to like, in the words of Val Hallen, “bodacious babes” 😅 So if Blossom is interested in having a “good body”, I think we know who would be interested, bye.
To continue more on her femininity and interest in dating, in the RowdyRuff episode, she makes a comment about how kissing is kinda fun, and in the Super Secret Crisis War she makes a comment about how Ben Tennyson is cute, so I can see her being interested in dating. I think you can tell Blossom really cares about being pretty, and would enjoy being someone’s girlfriend 💁♀️✨
As for admiration from Dexter’s part, I think the PowerPuff Girls are very famous. I think he has a poster of them in his room in the revival, and knowing that Major Glory admires them, I think it’s safe to assume Dexter is a fan. He’d admire Blossom not just for being able to share a Science conversation with him, but because she’s a respected super heroine. Seeing how he’s dealt with crushes in the show, I think Blossom would be an instant crush from his part 🤭💕
To end it, if they ever have a fight ( which every couple goes through, it’s normal ), their sisters would try to get them together again, which would be hilarious and cute.
