DGM 2k18 Valentines

I’m so sorry for the delay!

This is a soulmate AU where you can’t see a colour that is the colour of your soulmate’s eyes until you make eye contact. It is fluff and awkwardness. 

It’s an AllenxKanda/Yullen/Arekan

Word count: ~5300

Excerpt:

Allen has always been told that the sky is blue. The ocean is blue. The damn recycling bins are blue.

Actually, sometimes recycling bins are grey so he can never tell the difference.

To him it looks grey and bleak regardless.

Allen stares up at the monochromatic sky. The same as always. Grey sky giving to black after sunset, the splatter of dark grey clouds everywhere.

Sighing, Allen gets up from the bench he was sitting on as the bus approaches. He picks up his shoulder bag from the seat next to him, making his way to meet the bus.

“What are you still doing up?” Allen asked, stopping just next to Lavi. He looked down at the book in front of him, but the script was nearly illegible.

“I’d ask you the same thing,” Lavi replied, leaning back in his chair. He grinned up at Allen, the lazy, tired smile on his face already easing the pain in Allen’s chest.

Having his question turned back on him, Allen shrugged, hoping to look more nonchalant that he felt. “Couldn’t sleep. Figured I would walk around a bit to wear myself out.”

Lavi chuckled, turning back to his text. “You could try some warm milk, or herbal tea? I know Miranda has some in the kitchens. She uses it when her insomnia kicks in.”

Nodding, Allen considered it, still hovering close to Lavi. “I could grab a midnight snack, too. I’m sure Jerry has some leftovers I can snatch up.” He looked down at Lavi’s book again, feeling that tug in his chest. Food sounded amazing, but something pulled at the back of his mind as he watched Lavi work. “Actually… Do you mind if I stay here for a bit? I could, ah… use the company.”

Between the Pages

Title: Between the Pages. Fandom: D. Gray-Man. Pairings: Laviyuu/Yuuvi. Words: 2,819. Summary: Kanda didn’t get a job at a library to be social.  Lavi has other ideas. (Modern AU) Read on AO3. Excerpt:

Kanda didn’t look at Lavi, but could feel Lavi’s piercing stare. “I’m not into reading,” He responded bluntly. Lavi’s gaze widened, as he looked genuinely surprised. The shock remained on his face for about five seconds though, before his expression broke into sheer amusement as he laughed in an oddly melodious way. Kanda immediately stopped what he was doing, and glared at Lavi in aggravation. Okay, now this guy was really ticking Kanda off. Spying Kanda’s displeased reaction, Lavi caught himself as he tried to stifle his laugher. “S-Sorry,” Lavi apologized, as he attempted to gather himself. He took a breath, as he finally seemed to rid himself of any remaining laugher. However, his one visible eye still gleamed with mirth as looked at Kanda. “It’s just – how are you not into reading when you work at a library? Didn’t they ask you what books you like in the interview?”

Happy Valentine’s Day! This was a part of the DGM Secret Valentine event, and this little fic is for the lovely @incarnandine! I hope you enjoy it, as well as anyone else who reads it - it was my very first time writing Laviyuu, but I really enjoyed it (and to be honest I wanted to write more for this, so for all we know there could be a second part coming sometime in the future XD).
