Are U ready? Are U really ready?
DGTLMonkey together with the best electro dance italian scene gave birth to “Da Monkey club remixed”, same name, same sounds but remixed and smashed by lots of interesting names.
“Are U ready?”, the new DGTL Monkey single, gives the first shot in the compilation: the vocoder is asking you if you are really ready, and suddenly you will be overwhelmed by distorsions in an electro rock progression mixed with seventies samples that will “teleport” you to the legendary Studio 54; a track that will make you dive in the Seventies wearing the coolest bell-bottoms.
First (virtual) stop New York, next stop Berlin, with Frank Charlie performing “Like a machine” with a refined deep touch, while Elpies is presenting a passionate techno version of Mr.Oizo: two tracks that you could listen in a crazy night at the Barghain.
If you miss DVN(I) old style, don’t worry ‘cause there’s Randy Marsh with “Rise my people”: french touch and synth eighties sonorities matching with Hanin Elias voice (ex ATR).
Rycott’s remix “Feeling good or not” is a puzzle of glitch and broken rhythm: sicilian producer plays “Preso bene” with the same eclecticism as the Danish Trentemoller experimentations.
And now the three best dancefloor tracks that every respectable dj must spin: cool electro “Disfunction” version, by belgian duo N.K.V.D. winner
of the Disfunktion Remix Contest; the blasting cocktail prepared by Il Leprotto who mashed up electro, dubstep, techno serving a super alcoholic “Jesus on the cube” (drink responsibly); the astonishing “Trance-ition” by Calavera, a new project by El Puerco, which grabs you with percussive rhythm and pounding speakers.
Going back home Rustblade / Fu. Nch. with Aux Jack who gaves us a special “Commit your sins”, full of organs, wobbles and old-school dance
sonorities.
The idyllic remix “Sunshine” is an acid Bangladesh trip reportage: the lonely Bedroom Boy greets the Monkey Club with a fairy-like ending.
