I dunno if you heard but the latest in the tariff nonsense is that chinese manufacturers are now selling directly to americans and allegedly some stuff is still way cheaper even with a near tripling of the cost including the shipping and taxes.

The catch, it appears, is that the huge discount by bypassing the brand only applies to luxury purses i guess. Ive checked baotao, made-in-china, and DHgate for things I know are upcoming expenses and not a single thing that I shopped for is available at a big enough discount to bother importing myself.

Glassine paper, somehow 10x+ more expensive in China

Camera film, super 8 or 35mm, same exact price or marginally less

Museum glass, like 30% less, but after shipping and tariffs...

Mailing envelopes, like for letters. I cant find *at all*. I assume a translation issue.

Recycled printing paper, like all search engines all results only include one word

So, like, nothing i need is available, but I hear you can get a 30 grand purse for $1400.
