What I realised about shooting with Londoners, is it forces me to explore areas I may have never been to and re-contextualise the way I see it with a model and my concept.
Today I cycled to Alexandra Park from Hackney which was a 40min journey with the assistance of google maps. I came across a Castle, cemeteries, gritty alley ways, beautiful parks and reservoirs which I had never seen before.
These locations in between my journey has gave me inspiration for Music Video/Photoshoots and inspired a different route to explore for my weekly running routine.
My process for Shadows, Obscurity and Reflections has always been to ask the model where they would want to shoot. 9 out of 10 times I’m introduced to a location I don’t often go to and riding there adds more to the adventure, forcing me to step out of my comfort zone and doing a bit of low impact exercise thats natural to me.
Theres so many different pockets and communities in London, just when you think you know London, you realise there is so much more to explore.
