Koichi – the Sweet Strategist:

He takes it way more seriously.

Pulls out a notepad like he’s planning a covert mission.

“Okay, first we need to gauge her interests… timing… setting… lighting…”

Coaches Josuke on tone, posture, and “don’t talk about your hair for more than 10 seconds.”

Keeps Okuyasu from blurting out spoilers.

“No, Okuyasu, that’s called ruining the surprise!”

The Confession Day:

Josuke’s nerves are THROUGH THE ROOF. His hands are shaking, pompadour extra perfect, heart going Mach 5. Okuyasu’s hiding in a bush whispering, “You got this, bro!” way too loudly.

Koichi’s behind another tree, whisper-yelling “Don’t shout!”

“I’M NOT SHOUTING, KOICHI!!”

“You literally are!!” You definitely notice them but you play along because their efforts are adorably pathetic.

Josuke finally blurts it out, something halfway between a heartfelt speech and an awkward stutter “I—I like you! A lot! Like… uh… way more than I should probably admit right now!”

Okuyasu gasps audibly like he just witnessed divine revelation. “HE DID IT!! HE SAID IT!!” Koichi’s whispering, “Shh!! Shh!!” while cheering internally. You smile, blushing and amused, and tell Josuke you feel the same.

Cue chaos.

Okuyasu does a victory dance in the background. “YEAHHH OUR BOY DID IT!!” Koichi smiles like a proud mom at graduation. Josuke’s redder than his uniform. “You guys were supposed to stay hidden!”

“We were!”

“Okuyasu, you were literally cheering!”

“Out of love, bro!”

You laugh so hard you nearly cry. And in the end, Josuke admits, he wouldn’t have had the courage without his two dorky wingmen.
