A picture is worth a thousand words, but a word is also worth a thousand pictures. This is the driving force behind my ongoing series of drawings, in which I pick a word from a dictionary page each day and illustrate the word on that page. This listing is for 6 postcards each featuring one of several dictionary drawings.
You can now buy postcards featuring some of my Dictionary Drawings on Etsy! Only $5 for 6 unique designs, and shipping is free!
Dictionary Drawing, Day 52: Caw A crow, cawing. Simple, sweet, I love this drawing! I think it turned out so well. I just wish I could figure out how to get rid of the warping in the scan. It's not like that on the actual drawing!
Dictionary Drawing, Day 65: Colony
March 6 was my good friend's birthday, so she got to choose the word! Here’s a lovely swarming colony of bees.
Dictionary Drawing, Day 55: Chaos
For this drawing I had Chaos Theory (and The Butterfly Effect) on the mind. On a related note watching Lorenz Attractor videos on YouTube is my new favorite relaxation exercise.
Dictionary Drawing, Day 60: Cislunar Cislunar space is the space between the earth and the moon. I experimented with using more brushwork in this one.
Dictionary Drawing, Day 49: Cardiac
The Human Heart is an anatomical wonder! Drawing internal organs always gives me a greater appreciation for my own. That's just me? OK! ^_^;

Dictionary Drawing, Day 63: Clutch You knew hands would show up again sooner or later, didn't you? The definition given by my dictionary for clutch is "the claws or a hand in the act of grasping; also: control, power". In this definition is an implication of authority and dominion, and I tried to display it by using darker, thicker shadows, and deep contrasting highlights.
