Memes Shall Become Our Moonshine: an observation on Article 13
So after watching the film theory video on Article 13, I came to a realization.
We are heading into the twenties of the twenty-first century. As more eloquent people than I have said, the 1920s was an era of defying all societal norms that have been established till then - the youth rioted against their parents after having been sent to war about everything and that sort of jazz (again, I’m not that good with words, there’s a better post about it somewhere, I don’t fucking know okay) - but an important thing that happened in that time was the rise and fall of the prohibition era.
If you didn’t get my point yet, I’ll make it clearer to y’all —
If finalized, Article 13 will bring us all into the prohibition era of the 21st century.
While it is preferred that Article 13 does not pass, thank you very much, here is a bit of a bright light to all of you out there - especially in Europe - in case it does:
Even if banned, much like alcohol in the 1920s and 1930s, memes will become our moonshine.
We are going to go into this strong, and we shall prevail. We’ve done it once already. We can do it again.
If anyone could link anything about article 13 in the comments that would be great, I can’t seem to find any posts about this, but... still.
Thank you for listening. Let’s save the Internet, and - in case we fail - let’s blow the world up with memes until they give up and let us keep them.
