The clavore is the only creature known to feed exclusively on keys. A very rare specialized form of mimic, it takes the form of a lock and waits in ambush on a door or chest, often covering a real lock. If probed by any other object, such as a thief's lockpick, it will angrily stab with its sharp poisoned tongue causing injury, temporary paralysis, and a lingering loss of dexterity. If attacked it will flee into a tight space or play dead. (Didier Guiserix for "Le Clavore," creature designed for AD&D by Jean-François Clet, Casus Belli 20, 2nd trimester 1984)
