always thinking about au michael's dark parallel: saving souls
Dean Winchester will be the first life that I take in this world, first soul I save.

Arata belongs to @noa-de-cajou , Kaizarz to @corneille-but-not-the-author
"I don't... sense him anymore."
Sad eyes and screams and the stink of the volcano and bones white as sheet and walking and the blue falling off a face and closed eyes and he's gone and he's gone and he's gone he's gone he's gone he's gone he's gone he's gone
I jump out of my bed with a gasp. Hair sticking to my forehead. My hairdo nothing but a distant memory considering how many beads lie on my pillow.
Storm is hurling outside.
Shit.
Again.
Last time we had to stop at Sagunta. I took care of some things I had to. We got drunk. I told stories. Stories about a boat that isn't anymore. Lost to a seastorm like this one.
We can't tell stories anymore. Our next stop is Astren.
I get up. Out. Breathe. I hate that.
I hate seeing Arata's compassionate, sad expression in my nightmare while the growth shrink on his face. Giving up saved his life, his time, and for what?
You shouldn't have to get a reward for what you did.
He would have loved that. He loved you. But he's gone and it's because of you and I only feel that cold, cold hatred towards this infuriating sad expression.
Get out of my head.
Stop crying.
It's your fault.
You betrayed him.
He trusted you.
You don't deserve forgiveness.
You don't deserve-
Ah.
I see.
I get out. It's night. Not that I'd know for sure with this storm. But if Valentina didn't wake me up to take over the helm I suppose it's because she doesn't need to.
She wanted to save you no matter what.
I trusted the words of my beloved.
"We have to let him go."
Don't you resent me? Don't you find me hypocritical? You would have any rights to do so. Because he's gone. He's gone and
And he promised he would be back.
He knew, didn't he? That he would be better off dead, at least for now. That's why he left us the choice. He said we would carry on his mission
His dream
My dream.
I walk to his cabin. Open the door. There he is, preserved through necromancy, so peaceful even in the middle of the storm, he looks like he's just sleeping.
You promised.
I promised to trust you.
I need to trust you.
I need
Why did you have to leave me?
Why couldn't you stay?
Just a few days. Just a few tomorrows. My future looks so bleak without you in it. No matter how good he could be.
You trusted us to carry on your mission
What good is it if you're not here to see it?
Fuck.
We're all grieving. No matter how much we're trusting. Oli, Meili, Domhildr, Valentina. Skuld. Come back to us, please, come back to us. Wake up and laugh like you always did. I'll be more careful about your feelings, I'll tell you mine, I'll pledge my life to you again but this time as the friend I should have been fifteen years ago, I'll tell you about my plans for the future, I'll bring down the world for you, I'd rebuild the world with you, please, please, come back, don't
Don't leave me.
I sit down next to the bed.
The storm is raging outside.
It's probably why my face feels so wet.
I can't sleep anywhere else.
You always were my safe place. My sun. My beacon in the storm.
Come back. Please. I can't do this without you.
I have to try.
PLEASE THIS MADE MY CHEEKS SO RED I AM LITERALLY BLUSHING SOMEONE TELL HIM TO STOP
How do Drayden and Iris take the reunion with Nobori?? For Drayden it's like. That's his BABY who died but still came home, but for Iris it's.... probably pretty weird, cause she was so young when Ingo disappeared that she's lived almost as much of her life without him that with him by now. She might not even remember him that well after 11 years :(
First off all, they both really would have appreciated it if they had been told a little sooner! Elesa leads the fourth gym! There was plenty of time to give them a call and at least tell them to come visit Nimbasa if they didn't think they'd be believed over the phone... which, valid. It does sound pretty wild.
For Drayden, it truly is a one-two punch. In order to be reborn, you have to die- and based on Nobori's age and birthday, it's obvious that Ingo died the same day he disappeared. Which is both true and not true, of course. Time travel and all that! So... his nephew died. The boy he raised for so much of his life died, and there was nothing he could do about it. But he's also still alive- he's someone else now, but he remembers them and still holds the same feelings he did for them in his heart as before. He tries to focus more on that part.
(He hugs him even longer than Emmet did, and he has to squat to do it. He's so small now. A child again. But truly, he never stopped being a child to Drayden- his child.)
And Iris... yeah, Iris is 21 now. She's an adult. It's not like she's truly forgotten Ingo- his disappearance was a huge thing to happen in her late childhood, but the person himself... she's kind of forgotten what he was like. He never smiled, she remembers that. He was polite and loud, and strong at Pokemon battles, but beyond that... no. She doesn't really remember him.
It would be a strange meeting even if Ingo came back normally! But no, he does not. He was literally reincarnated, came back with a new name and face, but the same soul. He's only just a little older than she was when he disappeared. It's a lot to take in! But most importantly she sees how happy it makes her dad and Emmet. Their family is whole again. Different, but whole.
Also if Nobori thinks he's going to beat her in the Champion battle, he's got another thing coming.
(Ingo wins. He refuses the title of Champion though. Iris has really grown into it. He's very proud of his once little cousin.)

In consideration for Dealer’s Choice
Dealer’s choice is, obviously, my choice day, based on the pitches you wrote for your shows. Here’s what I’m between! There may be voting these, there may not be, but if there is I certainly will file them down first:
A Place to Call Home, Live Action
The pitch:
I recommended this a few months back and you haven’t mentioned it since, but you sounded interested at the time, so I figure I’ll pitch it here. Would you like to watch a Jewish woman move to a rural corner of Australia to rebuild her life, only to end up in a politely worded war with the extremely snobby matriarch of the local old money, landowning family? Sometimes the likeable characters have period appropriate prejudices.
The Bear, Live Action
The Pitch:
An award-winning chef from a fine dining restaurant has to return home to run the family sandwich shop after this brother’s death. This means the show is basically about food and grief, which I know are two of your favourite topics.
Mysterious Cooking Stream, Stream
Take on the challenge of something you've never cooked before, with the recipe presented to you for the first time at the beginning of the stream (possibly without even a title to describe what you're trying to make). Then walk us through the process of how you try to figure out what this recipe is doing and how to accomplish it -- This one might be logistically futzy
Doc’s Top Ten Pre-9/11 Country Songs, Written
Doc, by way of liking my absolute favorite Clint Black song, has proven to me that she has good taste in American Country Music and I would very much like to get her take on the genre as it existed in a pre-9/11 world. This is something that she doesn't get to talk about on the blog very often, so I figure this is a good time to offer it up.
