The fastest Ninja now comes in 1:12. Automaxx produced it first; Maisto on other hand presented an affordable version.
Of course, Maisto’s quality is not even close to the Automaxx, but still, it’s a model worth collecting. It is one of the well proportioned model by Maisto. This is one of those few models which are available in both 1:12 & 1:18 scales.
Ninja H2R has an extremely aggressive styling. Sharp blade-like contours resembles to fighter planes. No need to explain that this machine is all about speed.
So when Maisto presented it in 1:12, I quickly ordered one. This model was 68th in 1:12 collection, 99th overall !
Bike is excellant in looks and proportions with decent level of detailing. Lets check it out with the details pics.
Being a track version of Ninja H2, this one doesn’t have headlamp unit. Mirrors are replaced by spoilers. Notice those twin air-intake vents.
Fairing has a carbon fibre look. Ninja H2R bears Kawasaki’s legacy logo. Its bit oversized for this model.
Brake discs are excessively glossy. Maisto uses these same discs in multiple models. Sad thing is, discs are smaller for those ‘Brembo’ brake calipers.
Fuel tank is the only part made of metal. Tank extensions looks realistic though its a single part. Notice how fuel lid area is raised from other tank faces. Green trellis frame looks amazing.
View through rider’s position. Handle bar and instrument console is very well designed. Handle bar even features steering damper just like real bike.
Engine parts have a granular finish. Smoother one could have been a better option.
‘Super Charger‘ marked on engine. Another piece of fantastic detailing !
Seat is made of a plastic having soft finish.
Rear view. Screw hole looks inappropriate for such a nice model.
Aggressive styling continues in tail portion. Pointed tail looks awesome.
Star shaped rear alloy wheel. It lacks chrome inserts (which you get in Automaxx model). Tyre shape and size is perfect in proportion. Exhaust pipe has excessive glossy finish so as the brake disc.
Single sided swing arm is one of my favorite parts of this model. Maisto has brilliantly designed complex contour of swing arm and chain drive. These are most realistic components of this model.
Thats all for now, folks ! Have a great time.

My Instagram family prefers Blue-Silver version of Yamaha R1 over Yellow-Black one.
Hello folks, I recently conducted a poll on my Instagram account just to know, which color scheme of Yamaha R1 2016 models by Newray is more attractive.
Its my pleasure to announce that Blue-Silver is a winner with considerable margin. :)

Hello Folks, Let’s continue. In case you have missed the part 1, Click HERE
Looking from front, you can notice pentagonal twin headlamps. Real bike has circular projector lamps inside pentagonal casing. Mirror parts have rough edges which makes it look like unfinished part.
Moving to the front wheels, Brake discs are perfect in size; but not in finishing. They lack detailing. Paintjob is poor, as I mentioned earlier. Thankfully, tyres have a uniform fit with wheel rims this time. This is another area which Newray usually doesn’t take much seriously.
Same case with the rear wheels.
Chain drive seems attractive at first; but you can notice its cheap material quality.
Tail portion is surprisingly proportionate in these models. Notice that rear foot-pegs have chrome finish on them. Exhaust is designed placed perfectly, just as a real bike.
License plates are empty. There are neither brand nor OEM sticker provided. Maisto models feature ‘Maisto’ brand where as Automaxx provides most realistic license plate stickers. (See my post about BMW K1300R, click HERE)
Looking through rider’s position, its another disappointment. There is no instrument console sticker. No reflective stickers in mirror. If you are looking for a collectable that carries a value, this is certaily not that piece.
Conclusion : These Newray models are attractive at first glance, but there are multiple flaws with these models. Certainly not worth more than Rs.350.
Of course, These are my observations about the models I got. Someone might have different opinions. Please let me know in that case. Your feedback is highly appreciated.
Yamaha R1 - one of the most populer litre-bike was presented in 2015 with completely new avatar. This was major upgrade in design by Yamaha. So, when Newray brought R1′s 2016 models, I was pretty excited. I have had Yamaha R1 2007 model (made by Maisto) in my collection. It was the only 1:12 Yamaha at that time. So these new R1 models were a welcome update.
Newray presented 2016 R1 models in two color schemes : Blue-Silver Yamaha R1 & Yellow-Black Yamaha R1 60th anniversary edition.
First thing you will notice about these models, is the excellant proportion. Lets have a look from sides.
Second thing you will notice, it’s poor paintjob !
Look closely, and its a complete disappointment considering Newray has priced these models well above Rs.600.
In Blue model, some part of ‘Yamaha’ itself washed out ! In Yellow model, graphics are shaky. Seems like somebody touched the fresh paint. Paintjob is one important area where the entire model quality matters.
‘60th Anniversary’ mentioned on fairing. But you will hardly notice that when there are so many paint flaws.
Thats all for now, folks. Lot more things to write for these models. Next post will follow soon.

VESPA PRIMAVERA 150 1:12
This will be first 1:12 Vespa that Maisto have created. But unfortunately, results doesn’t seem much promising. Model looks disproportionate.
VESPA PRIMAVERA 150 & GTS 300 1:18
2 new Vespa models in 1:18 lineup.
Along with these models, Maisto will present entire new 1:18 MotoGP range that will feature Ducati, Repsol Honda and Yamaha Factory Racing team bikes.
Newray’s KTM 1290 Super Duke R joins the collection
This one is the 3rd KTM Superduke model in collection after Maisto and Automaxx. This one is definitely not superior to those models; but still I got this one as it was missing newray piece in collection.
I am planning to post a detailed photo feature of this bike and a comparison between all these Super duke models. Stay tuned !
