I think Manny will never truly understand Diego and Sid's issues with blood family. The three unite in the loss of it but Manny's mate and cub loved him for who he was and apparently never doubted that.

Diego's pack did not see his worth as a member but as a tool and weapon, their "love" was conditional, manipulative and fake

And Sid's family, from my understanding, simply hated his guts SO much they just prefered to abandon him and possibly leave that social creature to die in the wild.

Sid one day mett Diego and Diego wanted to kill him, but he stopped. They were friends and from their friendship became love. They had three kids. But Diego wanted be single and went away. Sid and Diego were in quareel. Diego went away and Sid was sad. His three kids hugged him. Diego was really sad , but he couldn't change that thing... Sid started remebering Diego and he was sad. Diego had reason, why he went away. He had a small problem with his older pack. But they wanted his kids! :) He was sad and started to plan his plan. He had stop them no matter what. He followed them and he was slept near them. He had bad dreams and worse ideas. When the sun woke up, he runned to Sid and warned him. Sid went away with their kids, but the pack was there. Diego started growling. The leader fo the pack followed Sid and Diego watched that. He ran to him, and they were fighting. Leader of the pack threw Diego away and he was in oblivion. Leader fo the pack started to growl at Sid and all pack pressed Sid to the corner. He protected his kids. Leader of the pack jumped on him, but he did not kill him. His claws ended in Diego's bpdy! Sid ran away and pack never found him. Sid came back to Diego and he was sad. Diego died in his arms...

Sid:You are my best friend...

Diego:Yeah, it was realy nice...

Diego: I had to go...

Diego: What should I do?

Leader of the pack: You can not stop us, we must kill him...

Diego: I must stop them...

SId: What are you doing, here?
