I want to say something about spell jars

Why do we put our manifestations, goals, or desired outcome in a jar that we then seal and forget? Won't that just seal the idea away...?

This is no hate or judgement, I have been an avid jar user cause fuck I love a good but after reflecting and mediating with my self love jar I made back in October when I was first assessed for mental health treatment.

I knew what I needed was self love and acceptance but I didn't want to actually get better but I could make a cool looking jar with the intention of self love anyways.

So I made a jar, actually in a beautiful crystal sweets bowl and I vowed to never opened it till I loved myself.

I opened it last week, it still smells and looks beautiful, I changed the note, I cleansed it and changed or added a few more things and now keep the lid half off.

So this experience has changed my mind on spell jars.

I only seal something I want to keep or already have/feel and want to keep it around or vice versa, a spell jar to hex a mental illness perhaps...

I have more exploring of this idea but I wanted to share so I remember to write it in BOS :)

You don't need to know your ancestors to honor and work with them.

I don't know much of my biological family history, but I do know how to research and learn about how to use my intuition to understand how to honour and forage a relationship with them.

I've had one step forward with a name to honour, so I do, most of them I don't know but I feel the roots of my family pulling towards different things such as Ogham and Celtic Paganism.

I honour my past dogs, late grandparents and great grandparents who I can honour them based on how they helped me become how I am and continue to grow.

It all changes and flows constantly for me sort of like clouds in the sky forming to make a picture before shifting into the next pattern.

Celtic Ogham divination set ~ a work in progress

I've been wanting to make my own "runes" or stone divination method, I could not vibe with any I found in store, so I've made some in polymer clay.

Like tarot, each symbol has its own meaning I both researched historical and wrote myself in my Grimoire. I now have my own magic tool for self growth made by myself, and spirit. I feel connected even tho I have not used them yet.

Exploring my Celtic roots has been the most grounding experience with witchcraft I've had. I'm much more aware of my whole self and even my subtle body energy system.

I am magic. I am learning to love myself. I am learning to love the flow of life.

These ogham will help me grow to my highest self.

I know Aphrodite will be with me on my date as she helps me pack my bag.

All she asked for was lipgloss, mouthwash, joints/light, ✨toys✨, crystals and a mirror.

Did you know Irish/Celtic birth trees are a thing?

Similar to the zodiac sign it's based on the time of birth. I saw this yesterday in a YouTube video by Hearth Witch (link in comments)

She urges you to look into it deeper, and as a 3rd gen Irish Canadian I just had to. With a simple search on Google I found this image and my place as a Reed.

"Of course the one tree I know nothing about and won't even consider a tree is my sign just perfect I thought I am definitely less of value than the other trees." I thought to myself while more than slightly bullying myself for my birthday and trying to figure out how I could be an Ivy or Elder.

So I looked up the meaning behind a Celtic Reed. I open one article on my phone to a webpage to a Celtic radio station playing a full moon traditional Celtic song - the same song my granny plays during rituals.

I still haven't finished the article yet, I finished two paragraphs and my face was soaked in tears and I realized my misplaced shame for myself.

I was able to go to bed last night feeling more cemented in my place as a magical spiritual person and I am so glad I got that experience.

Does anyone have any Southern Ontario plant information? Trying to start a native self sustaining flower garden in the backyard but I'm out of my depths on gardening I only know how to work crops and rotational plants not perennial plants.

So cold climate Perennial garden recommendations please!
