The full working version of Polaris. The song now has a piece of poetry at the end of it. I believe it works ... but God knows how I will perform it live ... that will be super hard and emotional. Never mind ... I will not worry about that now as I have work to do.

Will probably do a quick list of things that I need to do to the track to finish it. Still quite a lot but I have a full song now and that is real progress and very hard won.

Meanwhile ... the weather is so beautiful ... going to need to post a lot of moody storm pictures to help me get the atmospherics of this track right.

Time for another cup of tea to go with the list making.

So this is where I was last week. Silly me got interrupted and forgot I hadn’t posted it.

In this blog I talk about my ways back into this track and what I did when I listened again to the old versions. It also features a crisis (of course) and a fresh set of backing vocals .... smooth as silk they are and way out in space. Like that dress of midnight blue I wear to the ball room in my head!

Today I did my first studio session since my brother died in November.

I secretly promised him I would sing again before his birthday.

His birthday would have been on June 15th. So ...

I kept my promise.

The session went ok. I only cried twice.

The rest of the time I just concentrated really hard on feeling proud for keeping my promise.
