Mbox 2, first generation. I got it in 2004 or 2005 included in a package had to buy while I was doing my Audio Production studies in my college ICOM in Malaysia. And yes!, it still works 💯, 16 years and still rock solid hard.

Of course. This has been obsolete.l although I’ve always found required drivers, or ASiO drivers to use other softwares. And it has unfortunate maximum bit rate of 16bits. So that fact rules it out as a usable audio interface to do any professional work.

All that been said, this baby, a digidesign relic is a beast of its own. It of course has Focusrite preamps. And after 16 years of real rough handling, it just works perfectly- Perfectly I emphasize again because I have never serviced nor cleaned it since I got this in 2004. And it still works seamless with any DAW in the market.

It has absolutely no re-sell value due to its 16bit dynamic range. But I have years back used this to mix and master tracks. None of knobs are broken. It’s discolored as hell as u can see. I realized how old this thing on my closet was I found my first laptop, a smashed up Mac PowerBook G4. Now who else remember those Macs with the power pcs? So I’m using this to sometimes listen music from another computer than in the studio, as a 100% dependable, no non-sense audio interface. I wonder how many years the new audio interfaces will hold up to?
