There were a LOT of previews and looks at Dark Souls: Remastered that went live yesterday, but I wanted to wait for the Digital Foundry analysis before posting. In short, the game gets some very welcome and unquestionably great performance and resolution enhancements (namely 60FPS on all non-Switch platforms and 1800p on PS4 Pro). There are some asset changes, but the most distinct visual difference is the lighting, and whether this makes things look better or worse seems to depend on location. For example, details on armor can appear mysteriously flat or washed out compared to existing versions while environmental textures can look more vibrant/detailed .
