I just watched "The Crash" on Netflix, and oh my. One thing about me is that I love watching true crime series and movies. I believe her parents are a big part of the problem in this situation.
The first red flag for me was when they allowed Mackenzie to date this guy and move in at such an early age. To me, even if you’re 16 to 18 or in your early 20s, you’re still quite young, considering the level of maturity at that age. I could understand if she had been kicked out of the house or didn’t have any family support, or if she had gone to college early. But that wasn’t the case.
The second red flag was when her father said that smoking weed wasn’t a big issue, but for me, it is especially if it was laced. I believe that’s a huge concern. I’m not a weed person, but I would rather make it myself than buy it from someone else.
The third red flag is how some of the people who went to school with her, including the teachers, described her as disrespectful. It seemed like her parents just gave her a slap on the wrist and didn’t take any real action to correct her behavior.
What I hated most was her mom going up to the judge, pleading for justice for her daughter, right in front of the boy's family. That's disgusting.
