First match of the new shortened summer league at Dillington today. I haven’t done it right today and managed a default section win thanks to a late get out of jail chub and a couple of eels plus a few roach for 5lb 13oz with just an ounce more needed for third place! Last Sunday was the final V.E.S. Precision match and it’s fished hard, I’ve caught 100 fish (99 roach and a perch) on mainly red maggot over Bait-Tech Pro Nat Dark and Bream for 5lb 1oz and 1st place on the day and also the league title. I’m really missing my fishing at the moment but hopefully we’ll be back on the bank soon. We were back at Dillington today for the penultimate round of the V.E.S. Precision League and it’s fished really well with loads of roach being caught. I’ve had 161 roach for 9lb 6oz and second on the day. We were back at Dillington today for round four of the Ilminster Warehouse League and it was a case of the late, late show for me! I had a decent skimmer on the feeder halfway through the match and a chub on the pole but just couldn’t get bites from anything other than the odd small roach but then I’ve had two skimmers in the last five minutes to get out of jail. My 7lb 10oz was enough for second place behind Scotty Russell who had 13lb 8oz. For the return Ilminster v Stoke fixture we were at Dillington today and it’s fished really well, I managed 10lb 10oz of mainly skimmers on the feeder for third place. Dave Pope had the top weight with 15lb 7oz of skimmers. Stoke got their revenge beating us 38lb 10oz to our 26lb 12oz.
