9. Dynamic With Another Character

I think it’s obvious from my posting history, but my favorite Dynamic is between Dick Grayson and Wally West. Good friends since the sixties, know each other in a way not no one else does that’s not super intense but just niche.
I think it’s just how I’m every iteration their characters and histories get warped to sometimes beyond the point of recognition, yet they still fit perfectly together. I’ll always be a fan of their og dynamic in Teen Titans, casually ride or die for each other, no apologies.
I mean, Dick giving Wally a life saving blood transfusion at the drop of a hat, Wally reciting Shakespeare in his sleep as they exchange blood, Robin recognizing the character, scene, and verse while cuddling up to Wally sharing a blanket across two beds-
after also attacking people because Wally threw fists first completely unjustified and Dick doesn’t even ask questions first.
Is there really any non-soulmate explanation for this or do I read into things too much???

Okay, you guys I am the absolute worst because as someone who has read the entire birdflash tag in AO3 twice, I have never once bookmarked a fic or saved special ones and man it comes back to bite me.
Birdflash is mainly what I look for for Dick Grayson fanfics, and the current selection for this post is something I read recently and LOVED. It’s got getting together, angst, happy ending, and well, well orchestrated tension.
I will be making a birdflash rec list so let me know if you want me to tag you in it when it’s out.

10. Appearance In A Non-Nightwing/Team Related Issue

Cmon guys, you know that to get the real good plot you have to trudge through the horrendous art.
Only appearing in four issues of this J’onn centric JL series, Nightwing stole the stage for the few moments he had it. His most iconic moment being his dramatic reveal when Leaguers are discussing how they can bring Batman into their side gig, suddenly Nightwing dramatically unwraps himself from the curtains offering to take the job, having been listening the whole time.
A huge bonus is that not a lot of interactions were happening between Dick and Wally at this time, and we get to see a some key character portrayal of Dick’s daredevil/natural leader sides working together, along with Wally’s undying dedication to Dick.
Quitting the team when Dick does, defending him at every turn, getting pissed on his behalf, all that after the girl he asked out ditched him to try to get with Nightwing. A great read for Wally West and birdflash readers too, honestly.
Also Aquaman and Martian Manhunter apparently hate Nightwing’s guts in this series, their only excuse being that he’s “grandstanding”. Tho, Dick carried the team despite attempts of sabotage by Aquaman and hate from MM, his skills and character were so perfectly portrayed in this series I honestly like it better than any characterization from the multiple Nightwing series.
