Person A’s mother was sent to a fantasy world of her own creation when she was a teenager and decided to stick around and ended up finding love, getting married, and starting a family, but after she became pregnant with her first child, Person A, she decided it would be safer to raise her child in the real world, and traveled back. But her real life self ends up miscarrying. Little did Person A’s mother know, she couldn’t take her half-fantasy world child back with her, and so Person A was born prematurely in the fantasy world when their mother left. Person A is considered a rarity though in their mother’s fantasy world, unaware that their mother continues to draw the world around them, expanding the world she loved so much. But their mother goes on to have another child, marrying someone new, and living their real world life. But when Person A and Person B’s mother falls ill, Person B goes to the fantasy world accidentally in their sleep, desperate to cure their mother. Person A and Person B end up adventuring together, since Person A has the uncanny ability to alter reality, which Person B doesn’t think anything of, until things about Person A’s life and family start to sound eerily similar to the stories Person B’s mother always told them growing up.
Person A is the child of a powerful witch in their realm, but wants to escape their witch parent’s iron-grip on their life, so finds an artifact that lets them reality hop. Problem is, Person A’s witch parent exists in both realities, but in the realty they hopped into, their self of that world died, and when that version of their witch parent finds them, they are even more controlling over Person A’s life. While their original world parent is desperately hunting them down and trying to find the device Person A hid to get into the world Person A escaped into, Person A is trying to find a way to escape back to their world to evade the extreme overprotective-ness of their witch parent of that reality. So Person A keeps trying to get messages and leave hints for their original reality parent to try to come and save them/help them return home.
Person A is the child of the royal family of light and their homeland is on the brink of war with the royal family of darkness’ land. But then Person B shows up at their door, claiming to be the heir of the land of darkness, and wants to make a truce — by marrying Person A. But it turns out Person B just wants to use Person A’s powers, the ability to see into other realities, to escape their tyrant parents by escaping into another reality. Problem is Person A has to come with them. So Person B takes Person A hostage and goes reality hopping. But Person A wants to go home, worried about their homeland and their people, while Person B wants to live their life freely for once. But the more time the two spend together, Person B starts to fall for Person A, and thinks maybe marrying Person A would give them the freedom they craved but Person A is starting to see the merit in wanting freedom for a little bit longer, unaware that their world is falling into chaos because of their absences (both royal families blaming the other for ‘stealing’ their child).
Person A decides they are the best version of themself as a parent, and decides to hop through realities, stealing all their alternate selves’ kids to raise as their own. But then one of their alternate selves’ challenges them to a interdimensional custody battle over the kid(s) they tried to take from that alternate self’s reality.
Person A realizes their child/children are in danger and decides to send them to a fantasy world of their own creation. But in the fantasy world, there are two versions of Person A, a light version and a dark version, who start having a custody battle over Person A’s kid(s).
Person A’s young child gets very sick, so they decide to write stories/create worlds where their child exists safely, as a way of coping. But then Person A gets dragged into one of their fantasy worlds and finds out a magic poison has latched onto their child of that world and they need to travel with a stranger, Person B, to save their kid. But the longer it takes them to find the cure, the weaker Person B becomes — since Person B is actually Person A’s child, grown up and actually traveling in the past to save their weakened parent, Person A, from their future, who is also sick.
