was inspired by @dimorphodon-x's idea of Daimao taking over Piccolo's mind to "make him evil again and get revenge on Goku, sometimes even Gohan for making Piccolo become good"

i also drew Piccolo dressed as a sort of assassin and had the idea an assassin is running about "causing trouble" and Nail finds out it's Piccolo so maybe that's could be tied in as well? idk but either way, hope you like the art :)

ok FUCK so @dimorphodon-x 's birdformers au took a hold of me and started SHAKING ME VIOLENTLY so I ended up making a birdformers version of Sonarwave! Sonarwave is based (mostly) off a Wandering Albatross. You know, the bird that has a wingspan of 12 feet. They come up to a humans armpits??? Yea, those guys! She's still a big lady and is waaaaaaaaaaay above the height average for most of her kind. Also, yes, that is a bone knife. She mostly hunts for fish but has 0 qualms with eating other, larger sea animals like seals.

Anyway this is probably the fastest I've pounded out a drawing, I started this Thursday night and finished it just now.

I was in the middle of making Ether's ref when I went "What if he and Novabird were friends?", so here's a sketch of that!

This was incredibly fun to make, and after @dimorphodon-x released the concept for Nova's adult design I really wanted to draw him! His design and colors are so pretty, though I don't know how accurate they are here given that I color picked from his original colors.

I also have a few ideas that I'm just going to throw out here, but they are by no means set in stone :> I imagine that these two meet sometime before Hawk's passing, bonding over some kind of activity (presumably one that's mildly dangerous and wholly energetic).

I think that these two would do a lot together, and meet a lot of people aboard the lost light (I presume that's where they are anyway). Though, Ether might not be as well known given that Rodimus is one of Nova's parents.

Even though it's unfortunate, Ether and Nova would bond a lot more after Hawk's passing when it's revealed that Ether's other parent, Silverfall, was killed years ago. I think they could comfort each other over it a lot (part of me also really feels bad for Nova about everything about Starhawk's death, poor guy).

Uhhhhh Drillburst’s thoughts on Starhawk? 👉👈

On the surface, Starhawk's selflessness and nigh-youthful optimism would be admirable to Drill, and something he wishes he could have himself. And if he learned Starhawk used to sing, he'd warm up a lot faster! Hopefully Starhawk wouldn't be turned off by Drillburst's bluntness, because he'd probably appreciate the softie underneath. And like with anyone else into music, Drillburst would be pretty shy when it comes to his own; but any compliment from Starhawk would really mean a lot to him!

He wouldn't pressure Hawk, but he'd be interested in hearing what his voice sounds like, and what he used to sing way back when.

Then, if he learned of his turmoil - well, he'd find that he has a lot more in common with this black flier. Despite everything that happened to him, he still does his best to keep his chin up.

Drillburst would envy that, in a way. No hostility towards Hawk, merely the desire to do the same, with his own personal hell. I wonder if the two of them would console each other, with what amount information they'd be willing to share with one another.

All in all, good buddies! I think their bond could strengthen too :D

A follow up with the husbands!

Halcyon is an osprey just like his sister Longroad. His husband is Cascade, a bearded vulture. Halcyon really has to stretch his legs so he doesn’t look super tiny around his husband. He really isn’t that small, Cascade is just really that big.
